I converted an ambulance into a tiny home dubbed 'The Big Girl' for just £3,000 – I now live totally off grid for free | The Sun

A MAN converted an old ambulance into a home-on-wheels and now travels the world practically for free.

Ben Harris turned a 1995 Ford ambulance into his dream tiny home – complete with a full-sized bed, shower, tiled kitchen and fridge for cold beers.

The sworn adventurer takes his fans a long for the ride by sharing regular updates on his travels in "The Big Girl" across North America and beyond.

Together with his partner, they go wherever they want in their converted 4-wheel drive wagon, which runs off solar energy and 7.3 turbo engine.

"I would definitely suggest if you're looking to do a conversion – look into ambulances," he advises on his YouTube channel.

"Not only are they incredibly well built, but they're affordable."

All in, the social media creator spent only £10,000 buying and completely refurbishing the vehicle from a functioning ambulance into a well-equipped home.

The ambulance itself cost £7,000, which he says is more than usual because of its "4-wheel drive and low miles".

But the whole conversion only cost Ben his time and £3,000.

On its completion, he proudly took his followers on a tour inside the tiny home, which he managed to make spacious.
