After much anticipation, Tom Daley has revealed his Tokyo Olympics themed cardigan complete with a Union Jack flag and Team GB logo. On his dedicated Instagram account for his knitting, Tom debuted his latest creation after he was seen with his needles and yarn in the Olympic crowd last week.

In a video Tom said: “So, I finished the jumper and here we are! Thoughts and opinions please, but be nice!”

The impressive cream cardigan features ribbed cuffs and edging. The front of the garment features the word ‘Tokyo’ written in Japanese and each arm is embroidered, one with a Union Jack flag and the other with ‘GBR’ in a black font.

On the back, the words ‘Team GB’ can be seen underneath the red, white and blue lion logo and the five Olympic rings sewn below.

One woman said: “How do you knit so fast omg do you have extra muscles in your fingers or something? This is amazing.”

A fellow knitter said: “I feel like you have the Union Jack pattern memorized at this point. I absolutely love your work. You inspire us knitters to keep ‘diving’ into our stitches and projects… sorry couldn’t help myself.”

Another replied: “I have been knitting for many years and I still wouldn’t be able to make that! Especially the intricate writing. You are a legend it’s so beautiful.”

A fourth added: “I think it is fabulous. It should be part of the team uniform for the Winter Olympics.
