Shay Mitchell and Lily Alen Wowed in Sequin Skirts and Oversize Jackets at Fendi

Fendi Returned to Milan Fashion Week With a Catwalk Inspired By Karl Lagerfeld

Building on the success of its New York Fashion Week show, where Linda Evangelista modeled the celebrated baguette bag and Kim Kardashian sat front row in a neutral sequin gown, Fendi returned home in time for Milan Fashion Week. The Italian luxury label unveiled its spring/summer 2023 collection on September 21, welcoming a star-studded crowd to the show.

Shay Mitchell, who recently gave birth to her daughter, was hard to miss in a bright yellow ensemble comprised of a jacket-style top and a knee-length sequin midi dress. The long-sleeve garment features a black high neck and a zippered pocket at the center for an edgy touch. She stuck to the sunshine color theme with a sparkly yellow baguette bag, but opted for black pumps and frames, plus a few silver jewels as finishing accessories.

Other celebs at the event, like Lily Allen and Jourdan Dunn, kept the easygoing, cool vibes going. Allen wowed in an oversized jacket, styled over a mock-neck sweater and mini skirt and finished with white pumps. Meanwhile, Dunn wore a gray printed corset top with a curved hem and matching wide-leg trousers from the brand’s fall 2022 collection. Her accessories, a matching top-handle bag and black pumps, rounded out the look perfectly.

Creative director Kim Jones sent models down the catwalk dressed in earthy separates in a color palette of mostly green and white. There were languid draped dresses, fuzzy sweaters more apt for winter, and skirts with pockets bearing Fendi logo hardware. Accessories ranged from large satchels and tiny cuff-style bags to rubber boots and platform mules. Karl Lagerfeld’s work from 1996 to 2002 was the central focus of the collection, which Jones attempted to give a contemporary spin. “I am interested in looking at things that Karl has done, and seeing how we can develop them – both visually and technically,” he said in an official statement.

Ahead, see what the stars wore and catch a glimpse of the new collection.
