Apple TV Plus’ ‘Invasion’ To Premiere In October (TV News Roundup)

Apple TV Plus announced that “Invasion” will premiere on Oct. 22.

Starring Shamier Anderson, Golshifteh Farahani, Sam Neill, Firas Nassar and Shioli Kutsuna, the 10-episode science-fiction drama series follows an alien invasion through various perspectives from across the world.

Neill will play the character of Sheriff John Bell Tyson, a weathered rural lawman on the verge of retirement, while Anderson will play Trevante Ward, a courageous soldier stationed in Afghanistan. Farahani will play Aneesha Malik, a first generation Syrian immigrant, wife and mother living in Long Island; Nassar will portray Ahmed Malik, Aneesha’s husband and a Syrian immigrant and successful businessman; and Shioli Kutsuna stars as Mitsuki, an intelligent member of mission control in Japan’s space program JASA.

The season will kick off with the global debut of its first three episodes, with additional episodes premiering weekly, every Friday.

Writers Simon Kinberg and David Weil executive produce alongside Audrey Chon; Amy Kaufman; Elisa Ellis; Katie O’Connell Marsh; Andrew Baldwin, who also writes, and Jakob Verbuggen, who directs. Boat Rocker Studios produces.
