Kylie Jenner surprised fans on Monday when she announced that she decided that she would not be attending this year’s star-studded Met Gala.

“I’m so sad I couldn’t make it this year,” Jenner, 24, wrote in a post to her Instagram Story on Monday, referring to the ritzy event, adding, “I can’t want to see all the looks.”

Page Six is told that Jenner, who was seen dressed to the nines in the Big Apple for New York Fashion Week, was originally planning on going to the ritzy event but decided it would be too much for her since she’s pregnant.

“Kylie’s pregnant and it’s a lot to take on, going to such a public event,” a source told Page Six, adding that going to the Met Gala takes time, effort and energy.

Another source told us that Jenner was approved to attend the event but just backed out due to her pregnancy and that there is no dramatic reason why she isn’t going.

Jenner’s rep did not immediately return our request for comment.

The Kylie Cosmetics CEO also did not attend the VMAs with Scott on Sunday night despite being in town but was seen showing off her growing baby bump while attending an event for NYFW last week.

Jenner confirmed that she was pregnant and expecting her second child with Travis Scott last week. Page Six initially broke the exciting news in August.

The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star made her Met Gala debut in 2016. She and the “SICKO MODE” rapper walked the red carpet together at the 2018 Met Gala. She and Scott are already parents to 3-year-old daughter Stormi, whom they welcomed that same year.
