Shaq Muhammad has quickly become a firm fan favourite among Love Island viewers after entering the villa on day one.
He’s won over a legion of female fans after challenging some of the other boys for their “misogynist” behaviour on the show.
The 24 year old is coupled up with 23 year old influencer and biomedical science student Tanya Manhenga, who celebrated her birthday in the villa.
On 5 January, Tanya picked Shaq yet again in the latest recoupling, describing him as “loyal” and “respectful” and adding that she could no longer imagine her life without him outside of the villa.
But what was Shaq’s life like before heading to South Africa and meeting Tanya? Let’s take a look.
Before heading into the Love Island villa, 24 year old Shaq worked as an airport security officer in London.
He described himself as the “talk of the terminal” and said that the job helped him learn “how to handle myself in tough situations.”
He secured the job after graduating from the University of Essex in 2020.
However, his serious job hasn’t stopped him getting plenty of body art.
Shaq is sporting a sleeve of tattoos, a large arabic design on his back and a tribute to his family written in calligraphy.
On his Instagram, which he has had to shut down due to ITV’s new social media rules for contestants, Shaq used to regularly post snaps of parties and sunny beach trips.
However, before heading into the villa Shaq made it clear that he was keen to live the single life behind and revealed that he hadn’t had “the best luck in relationships” thus far.
He added that he was hoping to “potentially meet the love of my life” and said that he “hopefully” will come out of the villa alongside his future wife.
Shaq, who recently got caught up in a row as Georgia Steele got his name wrong on Aftersun, also said that his ideal date was far from a budget one, saying: “I’d take a plane to Monaco, do a helicopter ride over the city and then do a yacht dinner date. The next morning, we’d go scuba diving.”
He also revealed that his biggest ick is “rude people” and that he doesn’t enjoy affectionate nicknames like “bro” from his love interests.
