‘My fiancé stood me up on our wedding day – but still wants to have sex with me’

My ex stood me up on my wedding day, but still wants us to keep sleeping together. He thinks we can get through this if we don’t allow other people to interfere.

But he totally humiliated me by leaving me at the altar. How can I ever trust or love him again? Maybe he “wasn’t ready” to settle down, but I certainly was.

JANE SAYS: You cannot allow this person to twist you around his little finger. He had his chance and he blew it. He made the decision not to turn up for your wedding and must suffer the consequences.

From humiliating you to wasting your time (and, presumably, money) he alone cast himself in the role of yesterday’s man.

My girl and I are good at sex, but bad at love. Neither of us can do kindness or consideration.

Throw us in a bed together and we’re imaginative and red hot. But we struggle to get on as a “regular” couple.

The problem is we’re both extremely stubborn. Friends are sick of us rowing in public and several have dropped us.

She reckons our relationship is unsustainable because I irritate her, but the thought of losing her is horrific.

JANE SAYS: I get the impression you two will eventually burn out. The cracks are already beginning to show.

Your sex life is great, but sex alone isn’t good enough because you (both) need the whole package.

Just like everyone else, you need love, companionship and consideration too.

At the moment you’re just about getting by, but things will only get worse.

Friends have already started voting with their feet.

How many more people are you going to drive away?

Start talking like adults. Maybe you have to agree that this is as good as it’s ever going to get?
