Primark have hinted at click and collect service

Let's be honest, Primark is hands down one of the best retailers on the high street, they stock pretty much everything from fashion and beauty to homeware, it’s all at a bargain price and everything is super on trend – what’s not to love?

However, there is one thing that Primark is missing, and that’s a website we can shop from.

They do have a website here, but it's purely for browsing purposes only and doesn’t show everything they are currently selling so you will still need to go into the store to make a purchase.

But what if we were to tell you that there will be a stock check function and the possibility of click and collect?

Well, Primark are relaunching their website this month which will showcase what clothes are in store right now and you can even check stock levels in your local store so you know what you’re walking in to ahead of your shopping trip.

The retailer is yet to confirm when the ‘click and collect’ feature will be live, but rumour has it it could be something that comes in pretty soon.

John Bason, finance director of Primark’s owner, Associated British Foods, told Reuters: “We’re making the digital move forward in a very big way in both the UK and the rest of Europe.

“That will generate sales and profits for us. Does this give us a capability to move further forward? Well let’s have a look at that.

“If there was an e-commerce opportunity for us, it will probably be more in the area of click-and-collect.”

Click and collect may be an option they’re looking at, but the finance director has confirmed it wouldn’t be financially visible for the business to offer home delivery.

"You can’t get our value by delivery to home, it’s as simple as that," he said.

As much as we would love a weekly Primark delivery, click and collect will have to do!

During the pandemic, all Primark stores in the UK had to shut due to the closure of non-essential shops which led to months of £0 revenue for the brand with many shoppers frustrated they couldn’t get their bargain shopping fix each month.

Thankfully shops currently remain open and we’re thrilled to see the British high street get back on its feet once again and it’s safe to say we are so excited for the launch of Primark’s new website!
