Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) is on borrowed time with his lies and the one person who can speed that time up is David (Takaya Honda) with the truth he uncovers. How far will Paul go to silence his own son?
Paul is annoyingly giddy over the fact that after all of his games, Terese (Rebekah Elmaloglou) has finally agreed to give their marriage another shot. All that hard work of trickery and subterfuge has paid off. Terese is one lucky, lucky woman.
The narcissist is enjoying having the family celebrate his and Terese’s reconciliation, and his morals are way out of the window at this point. But he’s counting his chickens before they’ve hatched because two people are suspicious of his behaviour and his illness, and those two people could hold the key to him becoming unstuck.
Karl (Alan Fletcher) and David are hugely suspicious of this new doctor Paul has hired and of the sudden regression in Paul’s recovery. David’s curious mind won’t be quietened, and he plans to suss out what his gut feeling is telling him.
This could prove a dangerous move, as the brazen quack chooses to apply pressure to Paul to get him to open up about Dr Russell. Paul does not take kindly to this. David asks his dad to undergo more scans to confirm the diagnosis, which is problematic because, of course, it is all lies, and a scan will show that. Paul has finally got his wife back, he will do anything to protect his bubble, even if that means taking David down.
David, meanwhile, is not letting this go and continues to dig. He uncovers the shocking truth and inadvertently makes himself a real threat. How far will Paul go to protect his future?
Scenes air from Monday February 7 on Channel 5.
