Loose Women star Stacey Solomon has ditched her auburn locks for a vivid red shade, and fans think she looks just like Ariel from The Little Mermaid.
The mum-of-four revealed on her Instagram Stories that her usual hairdresser is on maternity leave so instead, she dyed her own hair at home for just over a fiver.
“I would usually go to my hairdresser to dye my hair but she’s on maternity too and I made the decision this morning so no one was available,” Stacey tells her fans.
“I’ve been thinking about it for ages and Joe booked a meal for us today so I just thought ‘sod it’ and went for it. It’s a little bright but I think I love it,” she adds.
If, like us, you’re swooning over the TV personality’s new DIY red shade, you’ll be pleased to know that you can replicate the exact same look at home, using L'Oréal Paris’ Preference P37 Permanent Hair Dye 1 Kit, £5.55 here.
Although Stacey features the hair dye kit on her Stories, she’s yet to confirm which shade she opted for. Fans of the star, however, believe it’s called Dark Red Ultraviolet or Budapest Red, depending on which retailer you buy it from.
The star has also shared some tips for using a box dye, telling fans: “Don’t wear white, do it inside the shower, don’t let it spill on your eyebrow and leave it there, it will dye that too.”
“Sometimes you’ve just got to go for it and then think about it later,” she jokes.
In a series of clips shared with her 4.8 million followers, we see Stacey mix the colour with the developer, before applying to her roots first and working her way down. She then shares a video of herself waiting for the colour to develop, looking a bit nervous.
Shortly after, the star washes her colour out and reveals the final look – a gorgeous bright red shade that looks incredibly similar to Disney’s Ariel.
“On a serious note though, it was nice to do something for myself,” Stacey writes.
“Sometimes I think I don’t bother because maybe somewhere subconsciously I think it should never be about me and always about the pickles but it should definitely sometimes be just for us,” she adds.
We’ve got to give it to her, Stacey’s hair looks like she’s walked straight out of a salon, and for just £5, we’ll definitely consider using home box dye now.
