It’s the lip balm that spawned a thousand TikTok videos. MAC Fizzy Feels Lip Balm in Taste for Bubbles, £17.50 but currently sold out, went viral on social media when it launched, with every beauty addict worth their lip liner posting about it.
Endless clips of people ogling the galaxy of glitter as they twist up the tube, then pouting at the camera later, and the cult product was sold out in no time.
But if you missed out on this must-have balm, we have good news for you. Thanks to TikTok user Maria (@mariajblbogs), we’ve found out about a great dupe. It’s the No7 Limited Edition Lipstick in Starry Nights, and it’s availablehere for just £10.
And that’s not all. Not only is this version a pleasing £7.50 cheaper than the original, but you get two products for the price. The lippy is in No7’s Christmas gifting range, as one half of the Limited Edition Lip Duo, and comes with a Lip Glaze in Luna.
When you twist up the bullet, the two products look nearly identical. However, unlike the MAC original, which is a sheer glitter glaze balm, the No7 version is a lipstick. It’s a flattering nude shade, shot through with an incredible amount of sparkle. It’s perfect for Christmas parties and even a bit of daytime sparkle during the festive season. Because if you can’t get away with it then, when can you?
The MAC version is also wine-scented, where this dupe version is sadly not. However, if you won’t take anything less than an original, keep an eye on the Boots website for news on this front too. According to their productholding pagethere is new stock coming soon.
Maria’s 65,000 followers went wild for the dupe, with the video racking up nearly half a million views. Fans commented that they have already been on the Boots website to buy their own version, while a Boots’ assistant said, “As No7 advisor I’d just like to pre warn you all, it’s a limited edition and won’t be around after Christmas!”
Maria has also done afollow-up vid, showing swatches of the two products side by side, and trialling the No7 version. Her followers also chimed in with several other shimmer lipsticks they recommend, including this Kiko Holiday Gems Diamond Dust Lipstick,£11.99 here, which comes in five vampy shades from red to plum. Another recommended Catrice Cosmetics Drunk'n Diamonds Plumping Lip Balm,£4.99 here, which comes in three soft pinky nudes.
