‘We were broke but now we’re loaded – selling sexy snaps gave us lavish lives’

A trio of OnlyFans millionaires have opened up about how they went from being broke to making seven-figure salaries and living luxurious lives in Los Angeles.

Casey Boonstra, Desiree Schlotz and Carly Sutherland Lawrence were struggling to get by before they joined the subscription platform renowned for its raunchy content but now they each boast more than a million followers on Instagram. Speaking to the LA Times, they revealed their OnlyFans accounts have seen them raking in enough cash to fork out thousands of dollars a month on their LA apartments, as well as splurge on extortionate beauty regimes and lavish hobbies.

For Casey, an Australian native, OnlyFans initially offered her a way of staying in the US. The 30-year-old had been working as a TV host on an O-1 visa under the category modelling but when the pandemic came and her boss passed away she suddenly found herself without a job.

Because of her visa, Casey couldn't just go out and get a bar job and as she struggled to pay her bills and rent she decided to turn to OnlyFans, which qualifies under the modelling category. Not only did OnlyFans provide her with a career she could stay in the US doing, but it also led to huge financial success.

The adult content creator revealed she now forks out $5,000 a month to rent an apartment in one of the biggest high rises in Hollywood. "I feel like I’m living the dream looking out my window and seeing the Hollywood sign," she said.

It's not the only thing she splurges on, she only flies back to Australia first class, has treated herself to a Van Cleef & Arpels bracelet, which start at $4,500, and spends her free time going to concerts of some of the biggest celebs, including Ed Sheeran and Beyoncé. She also spends a considerable amount of time and money on her appearance.

The racy model revealed she does personal training three times a week, which she gets for free in exchange for posting on social media, and spends $250 a month on an Equinox gym membership. As an aspiring actress, Casey has also been investing in her future career dreams by paying $100 a session for stunt training twice a week as well as $250 on an acting coach she also sees twice a week.

Desiree first joined OnlyFans just a year after the subscription platform launched but revealed she only started to see big success when she relaunched her platform in 2020 and now makes seven figures annually. The 26-year-old has been modelling since she was a teen but revealed her "family didn't have any money" and were always strict about her paying for her own way in life.

In 2018 she made the decision to drop out of college and move in with her cousin in LA, where she got a minimum-wage job at Sephora. But the OnlyFans star's earnings are now far above minimum wage and she currently rents a $6,000-a-month apartment near Beverley Hills with two bedrooms and three bathrooms.

"Three bathrooms is kind of a lot but I wanted to splurge after living in such a crowded apartment with my cousin," Desiree said. She admitted her dream home is actually a "huge mansion" though as her family are "huge farmers" and she'd love to have the space to grow her own food.

But it's clear she's already leading a luxurious life. "When I first started making real money from Only Fans, I bought a 2020 BMW 3 Series. Recently, I traded that in for a 2023 BMW X3," she added.

The self-described "basic b**ch," revealed she's a regular at Erewhon, an LA organic supermarket chain renowned for its eye-watering prices. She said: "I really started understanding this whole organic thing when I moved to LA."

Like Casey, Desiree spends $250 on an Equinox membership but also forks out $200 a session for a personal trainer three to four times a week and another $350 a month at Heimat, a fitness club. But Desiree, who also owns her own swimwear brand Celestial Swim, admitted she spends most of her money jetting off around the world.

"I remember writing in my journal: 'I’m gonna be a millionaire, I’m going to be a CEO.' To actually see that come to fruition is so insane and still mind-boggling to me,' she said.

Carly, from Canada, was actually a contestant on season two of the hit Netflix show Too Hot to Handle and was advised by her manager to cash in on her newfound fame by making an OnlyFans account. The 26-year-old used to work as a bartender and had "no money" to her name but now lives in a $6,000-a-month two-bedroom apartment in West Hollywood featuring its own steam room and sauna.

Despite her financial success, Carly is frugal in her spending in comparison to the other OnlyFans millionaires. "I don’t buy organic, I’ll be honest. I could never justify going somewhere like Erewhon," she said.

While she goes to three $36 Pilates classes a week, Carly works out in the gym in her building and no longer has a personal trainer because it was "too expensive." Explaining the decision, she said: "I live in my head like I’m broke. That’s what keeps me saving money. If I live lavishly, I will spend all my money. I have such an addictive personality, I will spend all of my money."

Carly has invested $50,000 of her OnlyFans earnings into her own perfume brand but admits she also has two splurges — a weekly massage for $95 and gambling in Las Vegas. "I get free rooms because I spend so much on gambling. I will spend at least $5,000 in one night when I go," she admitted.
