Christian Eriksen, the Denmark midfielder who collapsed during his team's Euro 2020 opener against Finland, says he is "fine — under the circumstances."
His message posted Tuesday on Instagram was Eriksen's first communication to fans since Saturday's match when he suffered a cardiac arrest.
"Hello everyone, Big thanks for your sweet and amazing greetings and messages from all around the world. It means a lot to me and my family," Eriksen wrote.
"I'm fine — under the circumstances. I still have to go through some examinations at the hospital, but I feel OK. Now, I will cheer on the boys on the Denmark team in the next matches. Play for all of Denmark. Best, Christian."

Eriksen is still in the hospital and undergoing tests.
“It’s the one thing that can unite most people in the world,” Denmark coach Kasper Hjulmand said Tuesday. “It brings friendship across nations, race, gender, everything. Football is one big family. … And we see this with all this recognition we get from people all over the world.”
Denmark's next match is against Belgium on Thursday.
