FURIOUS Ipswich fans started a FIRE at the club's training ground during a protest calling for manager Paul Lambert to be sacked.
Their actions led to a session being halted and police are now investigating the incident.
Lambert is under pressure at the Tractor Boys who were one of the favourites for promotion from League One.
But they are down in 12th spot, five points off Sunderland in the last play-off spot.
They have won just once in their last five league games.
Fans rocked up to to the club's training centre and let off flares while chanting for the Scottish boss to be sacked.
But some signage ended up catching fire, and the players were hurriedly led away.
Former Ipswich and England striker Darren Bent, while not explicitly agreeing that Lambert needs axing, tweeted that 'there needs to be change'
He wrote: "What exactly is going on at @IpswichTown, flares, protests the lot clearly something isn’t right.
"This club holds a special place in my heart and at the heart of that club are some of the nicest people you could ever meet.
"When there not happy clearly there needs to be change."

Ipswich face struggling Northampton tonight where anything other than a win would see pressure ramp up on Lambert.
The club released a statement saying: "There was an incident at the training ground this morning where flares were thrown over a perimeter fence adjacent to the players.
"The flares caused signage on the fence to catch alight and in doing so put our staff at risk.
"The police were called and are investigating the matter. The supporters' group concerned have apologised for their actions."
