'Hope he's accurate on pitch' – Newcastle fans in stitches as Trippier tries to point at badge but MISSES at unveiling

KIERAN TRIPPIER already has one shot off target as a Newcastle player.

The right-back drew laughs after bizarrely pointing to his SLEEVE rather than the Toon badge at his official unveiling.

Trips became the first signing of the mega-rich Saudi era on Tyneside when he joined from Atletico Madrid for £12million.

And fans were quick to poke fun after the Magpies released a snap of their new man pointing at their sponsor’s logo.

User Janmpolsky wrote on Twitter: “Hope he’s more accurate with his crosses!”

Fan Willftbl added: “Let’s hope he can pick out a man better than he can pick out the badge.”

And Lee Cruickshank wrote: “That’s where the championship badge will be, next season.”

Trippier appeared to be pointing at Newcastle shirt sleeve sponsor – online travel agency Kayak.

David Wallace joked: “Ironically pointing at Kayak as Newcastle are currently up s*** creek.”

And Mark Jennings added: “He is hoping that kayak will quickly find him a cheap flight out of there in May!”
