Horse racing tips: Templegate's giant 16-1 NAP is gutsy as hell and ideal for the big race at Newmarket | The Sun

TEMPLEGATE takes on a massive Saturday of racing confident of pulling in a few winners.

Back his tips by clicking their odds below and check out his tips for day one of Arc weekend at Longchamp here.

LIBERTY LANE (3.40 Newmarket, nap)

He looks ideal for this test after a gutsy win at Doncaster. He was headed before getting up again on the line over a mile so this extra furlong should suit. He has just a 4lb penalty and ran well on the July course earlier this season. There’s more to come from Karl Burke’s hope.

RELIEF RALLY (2.25 Newmarket, nb)

She looks a Group 1 filly in waiting after her impressive Lowther win at York last time. She showed lots of pace there as she did when winning the Super Sprint and losing the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot on the nod. This trip and quick ground are ideal and she can raise her game again.

MANILA SCOUSE (2.40 Haydock, treble)

He has a win and a second from his two trips to Haydock and is best on soft ground. He was better than ever when just pipped in a hot contest at York last time and can score again.

Dettori rides ‘easiest winner of his life’ on anniversary of Magnificent Seven

GHOSTWRITER was impressive when winning at Ascot on quick ground last time and can go close in this stronger company. He clocked a good time and can step forward over this mile.

Capulet went close in a hot contest at Leopardstown and is proven at this distance. A repeat of that effort would take him very close.

Al Musmak didn’t have to hit top gear when scoring in Listed class at Haydock three Saturdays ago. He relished moving up to this trip and will be right there again.

Macduff chased him home there and needs to raise his game.

Aablan came with a late run to score in Group 3 company at Sandown. That was over 7f and this stiffer test should be fine if handling the quicker conditions.

Caviar Heights posted a fast time in a Goodwood maiden but this is tougher.

RELIEF RALLY looks a Group 1 filly in waiting after her impressive Lowther win at York last time.

She showed lots of pace there as she did when winning the Super Sprint and losing the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot on the nod. This trip and quick ground are ideal and she can raise her game again.

Jasna’s Secret is the potential spanner in the works after two easy wins in France. She is upped in grade here but is respected.

Porta Fortuna won the Albany at Royal Ascot before two good runs at the highest level at The Curragh. She’s a big threat dropping back in distance.

Persian Deramer got back on top on the July course here last time. Improvement is needed but could be delivered.

Soprano missed the kick at Salisbury and would be dangerous if breaking better.

3.00

LAKE FOREST showed his liking for this trip on fast ground when winning the Gimcrack at York last time out.

He picked up strongly there and wasn’t stopping. He can improve further for William Haggas.

Vandeek has the strongest form on show but he’s been doing it on soft ground. He took the Richmond at Glorious Goodwood before battling to win the Group 1 Prix Morny in France last time.

He’s respected despite that unknown over the going.

River Tiber was third in that Deauville contest after winning the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot.

He finished well in France and we know he’ll handle these conditions so should make the frame again.

Taskforce clocked a fast time when winning a Salisbury Listed race and has an each-way chance upped in grade.

Jasour didn’t fire in France but won the July Stakes on fast ground so could bounce back in these conditions.

LIBERTY LANE looks ideal for this test after a gutsy win at Doncaster.

He was headed before getting up again on the line over a mile so this extra furlong should suit.

He has just a 4lb penalty and ran well on the July course earlier this season. There’s more to come from Karl Burke’s hope.

Greek Order tanked along when winning easily at Newbury last time and has been well backed despite a 10lb rise. He’s lightly race and should improve again.

Majestic is only 3lb higher than when winning this last year and showed promise at Chepstow last time.

That gives him a chance, while Dual Identity had plenty left in the tank when scoring at Sandown. It was softer ground there but he won’t be far away.

Merlin The Wizard has won three of his past four including here on quick ground.

Crack Shot is another coming here in fine form who has to be considered.

HAYDOCK

2.40

MANILA SCOUSE has a win and a second from his two trips to Haydock and is best on soft ground.

He was better than ever when just pipped in a hot contest at York last time and can score again.

Proverb was just over a length behind the tip on the Knavesmire and will be competitive again with trainer George Boughey in sparkling form.

Silky Wilkie has been holding his own in Listed sprints and ran well again at Doncaster last time. He scored on his only visit here so looks dangerous.

Woolhampton has dropped to 2lb higher than her last success so is considered but may find the ground too soft.

Spoof didn’t fire at Chester but would have a chance on his August Hamilton win on soft.

CHESTER

2.05

BAEZ wasn’t stopping when scoring over two miles here last time and can improve again. She enjoyed the soft ground and a hike in the weights won’t put the brakes on.

Zealandia improved for stepping up to 1m6f to score in the mud at Goodwood latest. A 4lb rise for that looks fair enough and he looks open to improvement over marathon distances.

Emiyn won on his last run here in July and didn’t get the run of the race last time. He’s up the weights but should run better.
