I broke royal protocol with Prince Harry at World Darts Championship but regretted it when I nearly had gun pulled on me | The Sun

DARTS star Adrian Lewis claims he almost had a GUN pulled on him by a royal security officer.

That’s after breaking protocol with Prince Harry by KISSING the royal after reaching his first World Darts Championship final in 2011.

Lewis, 38, is one of the top throwers around.

The British ace has won four major PDC finals while finishing runner-up in a further ten tournaments.

Lewis is currently off the competitive circuit for mental health reasons and has no plans yet for a comeback.

But he was in fine form at an event on Monday which saw all 11 winners of the WDC in the same room for a fan event.

The win marked his first-ever appearance in the WDC final.

And as always, Lewis celebrated by giving people a jubilant kiss.

However, he ended up planting one on none other than Prince Harry.

The youngest son of King Charles III loved his darts back in the day and decided to congratulate Lewis by giving him a hug.

But the darts star responded by kissing Prince Harry before realising just who he was being grasped by.

And Lewis was close to having a GUN drawn at him by Hazza’s security team, with event host Dan Dawson recalling the scary situation.

Lewis himself added: “I’d just come off stage after reaching my first final in 2011.

“Prince Harry came up to me, put his arms around me. As I normally do, as people have seen me do loads of times, I kiss people.

“On this occasion, it was Prince Harry. Then the shock hit me. Oh my God, I’ve just kissed Prince Harry.

“There was security looking at me. I’m thinking, ‘Oh s**, here we go…’.”
