Deion Sanders’ first game at Folsom Field will be in a prime spot on the TV schedule.
On Wednesday, the Pac-12 Conference announced the times and television selections for the first three weeks of the season, as well as for “special date” games.
It was previously announced that the Sept. 2 season opener at TCU will kick off at 10 a.m. MT and will be broadcast in FOX’s Big Noon Saturday slot.
When the Buffs host long-time rival Nebraska a week later, on Sept. 9 at Folsom Field, they will once again be in the Big Noon Saturday spot on FOX, kicking off at 10 a.m. MT.
The Buffs’ will wrap up non-conference play on Sept. 16, when in-state rival Colorado State visits Folsom Field for an 8 p.m. kickoff on ESPN.
“We are extremely honored to be chosen to appear on multiple networks to start this epic season,” Sanders said in a CU press release. “The exposure this provides to our student-athletes is one reason they came to the University of Colorado. ‘We Coming.’”
According to CU, this is the first time in program history that the first two games will be on network TV and only the second time that the first three will be on either network TV or the main ESPN channel. The only other time that happened was in 1990 when the Buffs won the national title.
Depending on the actual kickoff time, the Nebraska game could be one of the earliest start times in CU history. The earliest kickoffs in Buffs’ history were 10:05 a.m. on Dec. 12, 2020 vs. Utah; and 10:09 a.m. on Nov. 23, 2007, vs. Nebraska.
In addition to the first three games, CU now has start times and TV selections for a pair of Friday night conference games.
On Oct. 13, the Buffs will host Stanford at Folsom Field at 8 p.m. MT on ESPN. And, on Nov. 17, CU will visit Washington State for an 8:30 p.m. MT kickoff on FS1.
The remainder of the Pac-12 kickoff times and TV selections will be announced either 12 or six days before each game.
