LIVERPOOL have confirmed the signing of RB Leipzig midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai for £70million.

Jurgen Klopp is rebuilding his squad after a difficult season and has already brought Brighton and Argentina man Alexis Mac Allister to Anfield.

Now Liverpool have announced Hungary international Szoboszlai, 22, as their newest arrival.

Confirming the news on Instagram, the Merseyside outfit said: "We have completed the signing of @szoboszlaidominik from RB Leipzig, subject to a work permit. 🙌🔴"

Not only has Szoboszlai sealed a move to Liverpool, but he will also put on the No8 shirt worn by his hero Steven Gerrard.

He has a quote from Gerrard tattooed on his arm which reads: "Talent is a divine blessing, but without incredible will and humility, it is worth nothing."

He registered 20 goals and 22 assists in 91 appearances for the German side.

He has also already racked up 32 caps for his country, scoring seven goals.

Liverpool fended off interest from Newcastle – who were also interested in Szoboszlai.

But they ultimately withdrew from the race to focus on acquiring AC Milan man Sandro Tonali.

Meanwhile, Klopp will be hoping the additions of Mac Allister and Szoboszlai can help them contest for the Premier League title once more.

They finished fifth last season, missing out on Champions League football for the first time in six years.
