Harry Maguire is likely to stay at Manchester United after a loan move to West Ham failed to materialise.

West Ham have now withdrawn their interest in the defender, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.

United are only looking at selling Maguire and are not willing to entertain loan offers for the 30-year-old.

West Ham had previously agreed a £30million fee for Maguire but were left frustrated as he deliberated over whether to make the switch.

Everton and Newcastle have been monitoring Maguire but no new bids have been made for him at this stage.

Maguire has two years remaining on his contract at Old Trafford and has dropped down the pecking order at the club.

The defender has yet to play for United this season – he was an unused substitute against Wolves and Nottingham Forest, while he was left out of the squad against Tottenham.

Maguire lost the United captaincy this summer, with Bruno Fernandes taking over the armband.

Maguire has 57 England caps and was named in Gareth Southgate’s most recent squad but it remains to be seen if he will continue to be selected if his situation at United persists.

In total Maguire has played 175 games for United since he joined the club in 2019.
