Man Utd face transfer battle for Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani with Germans refusing to budge from valuation | The Sun

MANCHESTER UNITED are refusing to be held to ransom over Eintracht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani.

The Bundesliga club are standing firm on their £86million valuation as United, Bayern Munich and other big clubs consider moves for the France international.

Kolo Muani, 24, had an outstanding first season in Germany after moving on a free transfer from Nantes.

He scored 23 goals in 45 games and recorded the most assists in the Bundesliga — 14.

United have all but given up hope of prising Harry Kane from Tottenham and are now focusing on alternatives.

Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund is another option, as boss Erik ten Hag seeks at least one new striker.

But United are not prepared to pay the price they were quoted for Kolo Muani.

SunSport revealed earlier this month that Benfica ace Goncalo Ramos was also being considered.

While a new striker remains a priority, United have also been keen to land recruits in other areas.

Thus far, however, they have had no such luck.

United were in pole position to land Napoli's Kim Min-jae, before Bayern Munich stole a march on them and reportedly agreed personal terms.

In goal they have also been left with a dilemma due to the high price of targets such as David Raya and Andre Onana and the gridlock in David de Gea's contract negotiations.
