    CAM TO UNITED

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Man Utd will be one of the clubs in the running for Eduardo Camavinga.

Speaking on The United Stand podcast last week, Romano said: “He’s not going to extend his contract with Rennes.

“That’s why the player is not in a rush, because he knows if someone is paying €40m to Rennes this summer then he’ll be leaving the club.

“He wants to be 100 per cent convinced about the project of a club because he has the opportunity to wait six months and then from January he can sign as a free agent for the following season.

“He wants to understand who really wants him and what kind of project they can offer. It’s true PSG have an interest in Camavinga. I would say PSG and Manchester United want Camavinga this summer.

“Manchester United are still waiting to see what happens with Pogba. I think it won’t be easy this summer because the timing will be different. It could be something that happens later in the window.

“If the situation goes to next summer, many other teams will join the race.”

    THAT'S A RAPH

Manchester United fans appear to have revealed incoming defender Raphael Varane's shirt number, writes DYLAN TERRY.

The Real Madrid centre-back is expected to finalise his move to Old Trafford and be announced on Friday.

And some Man Utd supporters on Reddit have spotted that the third kit's No19 shirt, which was worn by Amad Diallo last season, has been taken off the club shop website.

This has led many to speculate that Varane is set to wear No19 for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.

One Red Devils fan pointed out: "Varane was #19 in his first season at Real Madrid."

    GOOD MORNING UNITED FANS

Raphael Varane’s move to Old Trafford looks to be nearing its completion.

And reports claim the World Cup-winning France star could be in line to be given Amad Diallo’s number 19 shirt.

Varane is reported to have completed his medical this week, but it is unclear as to whether he will feature against Leeds in United’s first game of the season on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Paul Parker is urging the Red Devils to sell Paul Pogba with the France ace entering the final year of his contract with the club.

And the former Old Trafford star told SunSport his old side should consider a move for Brighton star Yves Bissouma.

The 28-year-old, who has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain, is yet to sign a new deal and could leave Old Trafford as a free agent next year.

Elsewhere Amad Diallo could be set to leave United for a stint on loan this season.

It is thought the club is keen to see the youngster get game time elsewhere with Anthony Martial, Dan James, Mason Greenwood and summer signing Jadon Sancho among those vying for a starting place.

And Marcus Rashford could be set to join the fight for a spot when he recovers from his shoulder injury.

    FLOG POG

Paul Parker reckons Man United should sell Paul Pogba rather than risk the France star, 28, leaving the club for free next year.

And the former Red Devils ace reckons his old side should consider a swoop for Brighton's Yves Bissouma.

Speaking exclusively to SunSport's Phil Thomas, Parker said: “The thing with Pogba is you don’t know what you’re getting, so I’d bring in someone who you know has a better chance of making a difference week in, week out.

“So let him go and if he joins PSG and does great, then you have to say it’s because that suits him.

“And when you sell Pogba, you go and get Yves Bissouma from Brighton, who is a great holding player with good feet in tight areas."

    VARANE'S THE MAN

Raphael Varane could be in line to be given Amad Diallo's number 19 shirt number according to Sport Witness and the Express.

Reports claim the France international is set to complete his £34million Old Trafford, but his shirt number is yet to be confirmed.

With World Cup-winning centre-back only completing his medical this week, it is unclear whether he will be registered in time to face Leeds at Old Trafford this weekend.

    LINGARD LUCK

West Ham chances of making a permanent move for Jesse Lingard have been given a boost.

Manchester Evening News claims the club reportedly looking to sell the 28-year-old this summer along with Andreas Pereira and Phil Jones.

The England forward enjoyed an impressive loan spell with the Irons last term under former United gaffer David Moyes.

Lingard, whose current contract ends in June 2022, netted nine goals in 16 Prem appearances for the Irons last season.

    LOAN STAR

United could be willing to allow Amad Diallo to go on loan before the transfer window closes.

This is despite the 19-year-old only arriving at the club inJanuary following a £19million move from Italian outfit Atalanta.

Diallo made 10 senior appearances for United across all competitions last netting one goal in the Europa League.

It is thought the starlet could find more game time elsewhere next term with the club having Mason Greenwood, Edinson Cavani, Dan James, Anthony Martial and Jadon Sancho all vying for starting spots.

      BIG SPENDER

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is prepared to splash more of Man Utd's cash before the summer transfer window shuts.

This is despite the Red Devils spending a whopping £114million on Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane.

The Norway-born gaffer, 48, told Sky Sports: "You never know what is going to happen in football.

"We've still got one hopefully coming in, and any surprises, anything can happen.

"We've got to be ready, but I'm very happy with what we've done so far."

      WILSHERE PREDICTION

Jack Wilshere reckons the Red Devils will finish second in the Prem this season.

And the former Arsenal prodigy, who is currently a free agent, believes Man City will pip their neighbours to the league title this term.

United are set to host Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds in their first game of the new season.

Wilshere, 29, told talkSPORT: "Manchester City will win it. I would prefer Man United to win it but I think they come second.

"Chelsea third, Liverpool fourth, Arsenal fifth and Leicester sixth. I played against Man City so many times and it’s awful, it’s horrible."

      TOP BUYS

Roy Keane has hailed United for pulling off some "fantastic" summer transfer swoops.

The Old Trafford giants are reportedly close to sealing a deal for France ace Raphael Varane following the signing of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.

Keane, 50, told The Overlap Live Fan Debate: "I think the couple of signings they have made are obviously fantastic, there's no doubting the quality they've got in.

"But I'm worried definitely about the middle of the park – we can get to the goalkeeper in a minute and I'm still not convinced with the right-back (Aaron Wan-Bissaka) – but the signings have been good.

"I still have a feeling United will pull something out of the bag over the next few weeks."

      TOP GAFF OLD TRAFF

Man United's home ground has been ranked the second-best stadium in the Premier League behind Anfield.

The iconic Theatre of Dreams was pipped to the top spot in a survey carried out by YouGov on behalf of Betfair.

And Spurs swish Tottenham Hotspur Stadium came in third place with Arsenal's Emirates behind them in fourth.

      POG JOB

Man United are reportedly confident Paul Pogba will stay at Old Trafford after the summer transfer window closes.

And ESPN claims club officials will carry on with talks with the France star in a bid to convince the player to stay.

Pogba, 28, has one year left on his current deal with United. It is claimed the staff were willing to listen to an offer from Paris Saint-Germain.

However, the Ligue One champs have gone on to make the signing of the season by adding Lionel Messi to their ranks.

ESPN says Pogba remains a key part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's plans and the club are eager to avoid losing the World Cup winner to a free move next summer.

      GOT HAA HOPES

United target Erling Haaland is rumoured to be "dreaming" of a Prem move according to football experts in Germany.

It is thought the Borussia Dortmund goal machine looks set to remain with the Bundesliga side this season with the club set to play Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.

And it is claimed the striker's reported £68million can be activated next summer with United among the sides rumoured to be keen on the player.

Sky Germany's Jesco von Eichmann said: "They (Dortmund) know how strong he is and how many goals he scores.

"So if they have to lose him, they would prefer to lose him to the Premier League, or La Liga.

"I can't really imagine that Bayern Munich is going to sign Erling Haaland.

"Haaland is dreaming of the Premier League as I've heard so I don't think he will stay in Germany."

      GRIEZ GLAMOUR

Louis Saha reckons Antoine Griezmann could add a new dimension to Man United's attack if the Frenchman was to move to Old Trafford.

The France and Barcelona ace, 30, could be headed for the Nou Camp exit with the Catalan giants looking to ease their wage bill.

Saha, 42, who spent four seasons at United, told GentingBet: "Griezmann is a very intelligent player with a lot of skills.

“He would add something different to United and he’s a top player. He can play different roles and will be able to adapt to the Premier League – although so much of that is down to luck.

“He’s shown his quality with France, he always scores goals. He’s a very smart lad.

“He’s managed to play with Messi, which, in terms of being a striker, is quite demanding, because most of the time Barcelona is playing through Messi.

“So, to adapt in and around that is more challenging than it might seem!”

      GARNER GO?

James Garner's Man United future looks to be in doubt amid reports the midfielder has turned a new deal with the club.

Football Insider claims the 20-year-old, who spent last term on loan at Watford and Nottingham Forest, has rejected a new contract.

Garner, whose current deal with United runs out in June 2022, has been linked with Sheffield United and Stoke City.

And it is claimed the Red Devils may block any new loan moves unless the player agrees to a new contract.

      DIM VIEW

Dimitar Berbatov has backed Anthony Martial to stay at Man Utd.

The former Old Trafford striker told Betfair: “Anthony Martial is probably thinking that he is in a bit of a difficult situation because with, Sancho coming to United, the Frenchman’s playing time is going to be reduced.

“I have no doubt that this will be going through his mind right now, he will be questioning himself asking: ‘Do I stay and fight for my position, or should I start to look to move to a team where I will play more regularly?’

“Inter would not be the best place for Martial. His playing style is very technical and he suits going one-on-one with defenders.

“I would like him to stay at United and challenge himself. If he can show what he can do in training and then in games then I think he will be fine and he is another great option for United to have.

“I hope he can stay fit, because he’s had a few in the past and this can put a real stop on the development of a player.”

      HAA LA LAND

Man Utd are the only Premier League club with a chance of signing Erling Haaland, according to reports.

But Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have emerged as favourites for his signature.

Manchester City and Chelsea were strongly linked with the Norwegian goal machine earlier in the summer.

But their swoops for Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku respectively have ruled them out of the race for Haaland.

And the man himself has insisted that he is happy at Borussia Dortmund.

The German side's enormous £150million price tag has scared off the duo.

According to AS, Man United are the only Premier League club that could still make a move for the 21-year-old.

      YOUNG AT HEART

Aston Villa have been stunned by the performance levels of former Man Utd ace Ashley Young ahead of the veteran's 16th season in the top-tier.

In what has been a busy transfer market for the Midlands club, Young's arrival has arguably received the least attention when compared with the additions of Danny Ings, Emiliano Buendia and Leon Bailey.

But boss Dean Smith has revealed just how impressed he has been with the wide-man ahead of the new campaign.

He told BT Sport: "What [Young] brings first and foremost is unbelievable experience and professionalism.

"He's also got versatility, can play a number of different positions, and I think he's impressed everybody at the football club so far with how fit he is.

"It should be young Ashley rather than Ashley Young."

      SAN OF A GUN

Louis Saha believes new arrival Jadon Sancho will take United to another level.

He told GentingBet: "Jadon Sancho will take United up another level. He’s such an exciting prospect.

"He’s the type of player I really like because he’s able to create and score goals and he adds that bit of flare that is very hard to predict.

"So, it’s an amazing combination when you have players like Fernandes in and around him.

"Sancho is a dribbler, so he can really create the spaces for the strikers.

"I’m excited to see what kind of combination he can form with the likes of Cavani, Rashford, Martial and then Greenwood, Fernandes and Pogba. When you name those players, any defence will be in trouble."

      ROMERO’S RETURN

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero is set to return to football with Granada.

Romero joined United in 2015 but has been increasingly sidelined and his last appearance for the club was in August 2020 against FC Copenhagen in the Europa League.

His chances of regular football at United were blocked by David de Gea and the emergence of Dean Henderson.

The 34-year-old was poised to join Everton at the start of last season until United blocked the move at the last minute.

Former Sampdoria keeper Romero spent much of last season back in his homeland in Argentina.

His contract at Old Trafford expired in the summer and the keeper’s next move appears to be to Spain after previous club spells in France, Italy and Holland.

      XAV-ING NONE OF IT

Barcelona legend Xavi has revealed he turned down the chance to sign for Manchester United while Alex Ferguson was in charge.

The 41-year-old currently manages Al-Sadd SC in Qatar and he told the Times: “Manchester United approached me once through Sir Alex Ferguson’s brother, but my answer was very quick.

“I was focused on Barca, my priority was only Barca.

“I am a fan from the very inside of myself and that’s why was impossible for me to leave.”

      KIT'S A BEAUTY

Man Utd have released their new third kit ahead of the Premier League kick-off this weekend.

Adidas' latest effort is predominantly blue – with black and yellow trim.

The modern design features an 'M' ingrained into its pattern.

And sponsor TeamViewer stands out in bright yellow.

Fans will have been excited to see Jadon Sancho modelling the smart kit.

The likes of Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba have also posed in the shirt.
