Matt Ryan’s Atlanta Falcons went 4-12 in 2020
The Atlanta Falcons will play a regular season game in London as part of the NFL’s International Series in 2021, the team have announced.
The Falcons plan to play as the ‘home team’ at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in October, with the game serving as one of the team’s nine home regular season games this year.
The date of the fixture, as well as the Falcons’ non-divisional opponent, will be confirmed when the NFL releases its 2021 season schedule in May.
The team added that the scheduling of the game in London is subject to Covid-19 restrictions, including attendance allowances at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The NFL’s International Series was cancelled in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
On Wednesday, the NFL confirmed that every team will play an international game at least once every eight years, as well as an expanded 17-game regular season.
