PREMIER LEAGUE newbies Brentford have announced the rare decision to keep the same home kit for the 2022/23 season.
Thomas Frank's side will run out next year wearing the same home shirts they have worn for their debut Premier League campaign.
The Bees made the decision to keep the same iconic red and white striped shirt, which costs £49, in order to save fans from splashing out on another home shirt next season.
Brentford are also helping the environment by reducing the damaging carbon emitted that comes with the production of a new kit.
Premier League commercial and broadcasting income dwarfs the money the made from retail sales, meaning they can afford not to release a new home kit.
Despite being commonplace to keep kits for two seasons in the pre-Premier League era, clubs now release new strips every season to maximise profits.
The decision has been hailed by Brentford supporters and rival fans alike, with the Bees impressing Prem fans in their first season in the top-flight since 1947.
One said: "Other clubs need to look at this. Having three new kits every season is absurd. Can’t speak highly enough of Brentford in a lot of ways."
While another gushed: "On behalf of all the neutrals… please stay up. The league needs you."
Brentford fans themselves were also pleased with the decision that will both save their pockets and help the environment.

A delighted fan wrote: "Thank you for doing this #bees. Looking after everyone."
"What a brilliant decision …. Changing every season when you have a family of supporters can get very expensive."
However despite the good intentions, one fan wasn't too pleased that this season's kit design is here to say.
They quipped: "Nice gesture, wish you’d done it with a kit that wasn’t awful."
The West Londoners have confirmed they will have new away and third kits for the next campaign.
Jon Varney, Brentford FC Chief Executive, said: "Whilst it is not normal practice for Premier League clubs to roll a kit over for two seasons, fans have told us that they would be in favour of the savings that a two-season shirt would provide.
"This season, our membership of The Premier League means that the income we receive from broadcast and commercial partnerships far outweighs the income we can generate from retail, therefore now is the perfect time for us to try something different without it having a material impact on our revenue.
He went on to say: "We also think this is a step in the right direction to help the environment a little.
"It can only be a good to reduce kit cycles where circumstances allow, and we will continue to work with Umbro to make sure the production of our kit is as sustainable as possible.
"It is only a little thing, but we believe it will help."
