Roy Keane mockingly tells Arsenal to 'have a singsong because you played well' to delight of Man Utd fans | The Sun

MANCHESTER UNITED fans were left thrilled after Roy Keane told Arsenal to “have a singsong” for playing well in Sunday’s defeat at Old Trafford.

Two goals from Marcus Rashford and a debut strike from Antony saw United run out 3-1 winners yesterday.

That was despite Arsenal bossing possession and having more shots on goal in a thriller at the Theatre of Dreams.

Gunners fans were left feeling hard done by at the final whistle, especially considering Gabriel Martinelli had an early opener controversially disallowed by VAR.

And the result saw league leaders Arsenal lose their 100 per cent start to the season, with United now just three points off top spot.

Gunners icon Merson was left feeling upset at the final whistle as he hailed Mikel Arteta’s side for their swashbuckling style of play.

However, Red Devils legend Keane was having none of it.

The Irishman made it abundantly clear that it doesn’t matter whether a team plays well or not in defeat at Old Trafford.

And at the end of the day, all that matters is the result.

Keane declared: “We’ve been sitting here and, even in the first half, giving Arsenal a lot of plaudits.

“When I was a played and teams came here and had a good day, I never worried about the plaudits.

“I was interested in the points. You can praise Arsenal all you want, but this is about results and winning football matches.”

Merson responded: “Yeah but there’s ways of losing games, Roy.”

Keane quickly fired back: “Oh right, have a singsong going back because you lost but you played well!

“Rubbish! Rubbish! It’s about winning.”

Merson then reminisced about how his Arsenal side would play well at United before losing, to which Keane quipped: “So that’s carrying on now isn’t it, brilliant.”

United fans were thrilled with Keane’s observations, with one saying: “Keano only speaks facts!”

Another boomed: “Love you Roy.”

One yelped: “Keane is spot on. No team has ever won the league based purely on plaudits for beating only teams below 10th place.
