  • Palace eye Henderson

Crystal Palace are making a shock move for Manchester United keeper Dean Henderson.

Eagles have been told that the Old Trafford No 2 is available on a loan-to-buy basis and he is high on their list as Vicente Guaita looks set to leave Selhurst Park.

Palace would take Henderson if the deal is right — and they have a chance as Nottingham Forest back away from targeting the stopper who had last season’s loan at the City Ground cut short by injury.

United wanted cash or a guarantee that Henderson, 26, would move to Forest permanently if he played enough games this season. But that became a hard deal to broker.

Palace will also find it tough to sign Henderson but are trying to find a solution and have two loan spaces free.

    Prem rivals in for Balogun

Chelsea have entered the race to sign Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun, according to Sky Sports.

The striker shone on loan at Reims last season, scoring 21 goals and assisting three times in his 34 league appearances.

The Gunners have put a £50million price tag on the forward which has so far put off suitors.

Inter Milan, Monaco, West Ham and Spurs are all rumoured to also have an interest in the American.

Fiorentina 'want to satisfy' Amrabat with top move

Fiorentina’s president has provided an update on United target Sofyan Amrabat and said he is yet to receive an official bid for the player.

Amrabat has been a name at the top of United’s list as they look to sign a new defensive midfielder.

PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC – JUNE 7: Sofyan Amrabat of Fiorentina in action during the UEFA Europa Conference League 2022/23 final match between ACF Fiorentina and West Ham United FC at Eden Arena on June 7, 2023 in Prague, Czech Republic. It is believed a deal would cost around £26million and Amrabat even missed out some of Fiorentina’s pre-season to secure a deal.

However Fiorentina director Daniele Prade has now cast doubt on the notion of his key man going anywhere.

Prade said: “The situation is clear.

“He wants to join a top club and we want to satisfy him, but if we receive no offers, he will stay with us. We don’t have a player like him in the team.”

    It's a Nu-NO for Forest

Nottingham Forest’s deal for Nuno Tavares is off, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Romano reports that the left-back has rejected a move to Forest and is considering approaches from other clubs.

Forest looked poised to sign the 23-year-old with Steve Cooper’s men seemingly willing to stump up the £30million required to sign the full-back.

Tavares spent last season out on loan at Marseille and is deemed surplus to requirements by Mikel Arteta.

Red Devils nip in for Nypan

Manchester United have reportedly sent scouts to watch a 16-year-old wonderkid who is hot property in Scandinavian football.

Sverre Nypan plays his football for Norwegian first division side Rosenberg and became their youngest ever player when he made his debut at just 15-years-old.

Man United have been monitoring the youngster for around a year and according to Norwegian outlet TV2, have sent scout out to watch him.

Nypan has already made 19 senior appearances despite his age and has made a name for himself with two goals and four assists.

The Red Devils will face competition for his signature though with top clubs from Germany, Belgium and Holland also said to be interested.

However Erik ten Hag‘s team may have the advantage with TV2 reporting that Nypan is a huge Man United fan who idolises Cristiano Ronaldo.

And the central-midfielder’s playstyle has been likened to that of Frenkie De Jong, who has long been a target for United and worked under ten Hag at Ajax.

United are looking for midfield reinforcements this summer with the Manchester giants pushing to complete a deal for Fiorentina man Sofyan Amrabat.

    Al-Ittihad 'keen on Raphael'

Raphael Varane has become the latest big-name player to be linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.

Al-Ittihad have reportedly made contact with Varane’s agents and also hold an interest in PSG centre-back Marquinhos.

Varane is understood to favour staying at United as he still has what it takes to play with Europe.

But he has held calls with compatriots Karim Benzema and Ngolo Kante who play for Al-Ittihad as he looks to scope out a deal.

Kon is on for Prem return

West Ham are close to completing a deal for former Arsenal centre-back Konstantinos Mavropanos.

The defender was left out of the Stuttgart squad for their game against Bochum today.

Fabrizio Romano reports that’s because a deal is close between the two clubs and Stuttgart did not want to risk an injury for the player.

Mavropanos played for Arsenal from 2018 until last summer, and has impressed since moving to the Bundesliga.

Barca close on 'Arsenal target' Cancelo

Barcelona want Joao Cancelo to rekindle his career at the Nou Camp despite reported interest form Arsenal.

The LaLiga giants hope to agree a season-long loan for the Manchester City full-back ahead of a permanent £45million move next summer.

They are also willing to pay 90 per cent of his wages — around £170,000 a week — this term.

Cancelo, 29, spent the second half of last term at Bayern Munich after a fall out with Pep Guardiola.

The Germans could not afford City’s £60m asking price so he returned to the Etihad where Guardiola has been impressed with his attitude and willingness to knuckle down.

But the versatile Portuguese international is still facing only a bit-part role with Rico Lewis now ahead of him in Pep’s pecking order after signing a new five-year deal.

The striker shone on loan at Reims last season, scoring 21 goals and assisting three times in his 34 league appearances.

  • Brazilian whizkid to snub Forest

EXCLUSIVE: Brazilian striker Matheus Nascimento, 19, plans to stay with Botafogo rather than join Nottingham Forest.

The Reds will pay £15million but the teen wants to win the title back home.

Crystal Palace have also been linked with Nascimento.

But Forest moved ahead of the Eagles in the race for his signature.

Steve Cooper's side had considered signing Nascimento now and loaning him straight out.

The Brazilian could have joined Olympiacos, who are also owned by Forest chief Evangelos Marinakis.

Nascimento made his senior debut for current Brazilian top-flight leaders Botafogo aged 16, becoming their youngest ever player in the process.

He has gone on to make 72 appearances for them, scoring six times.

The exciting youngster has also earned three Brazil Under-20s caps.

Botafogo are top of the Brazilian top flight.

  • Shock 'n Roll for Toon

EXCLUSIVE: Eddie Howe looks set to miss out on a summer target with Benjamin Rollheiser heading for Zenit St Petersburg in a £12million deal.

The Argentine attacking midfielder, 23, was on Newcastle boss Howe’s radar — with fellow Premier League sides Burnley and Sheffield United United also taking a look.

Rollheiser likes the Prem but the Russians are close to agreeing a fee with Argies Estudiantes and Zenit’s offer may be too good to turn down.

Newcastle have been busy in the transfer market this summer, bringing four new players to St James' Park.

Howe has splashed out a cool £120million on Sandro Tonali, Harvey Barnes, Tino Livramento and Yankuba Minteh.

The Magpies are on the brink of making Chelsea's Lewis Hall their fifth summer signing.

And Howe insists the teenager will be the LAST summer arrival at St James' Park.

He said of the 18-year-old: "He’s a player I like – very versatile with really good potential. Let’s see what happens.

"If we do bring a player in, that will be our transfer business concluded, unless there are injuries.”

    Maguire & VDB speculation grows

Manchester United made changes to their squad ahead of the 2-0 loss at Tottenham.

And two players who have been subject of scrutiny regarding their futures were left out.

Wantaway Harry Maguire, who saw a move to West Ham collapse last week, was missing from Ten Hag's line-up.

While flop Donny van de Beek is expected to move on – with former club Ajax linked with a loan move.

But, according to Fabrizio Romano, the England centre back missed the visit to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium "due to minor injury".

However, intriguingly the Italian transfer expert added the Dutch midfielder's absence was down to "negotiations ongoing for his exit."

Maguire was all set for a move when West Ham had a £30million bid accepted by United and the transfer was all sorted.

However, as revealed by SunSport, the England international told the Red Devils he wanted £15m as he would surrender his £190,000-a-week contract for reduced £120,000 weekly wages in East London.

Silva wants Fulham to splash out

Marco Silva is piling the pressure on Fulham chiefs to quickly spend the £45million being raised by Alexsandar Mitrovic's exit.

The Craven Cottage manager said: "Not just replace Mitrovic. We have many things to do.

"Unfortunately for me as manager of this club, because we have four or five players to sign and 15 days to finish the market.

"The striker market is not an easy one. We are going to do our best to find the right player to replace him."

Silva upset over 'not normal' exit for Mitrovic

Aleksandar Mitrovic is in Saudi Arabia to complete his big money move to Al-Hilal with Fulham boss Marco Silva accusing the striker of forcing his way out of Craven Cottage.

The Serbian striker, who scored 111 goals over more than six years at Craven Cottage, is set to agree a three-year-deal in the Saudi capital to join Neymar at Al-Hilal.

Silva was told before kick-off in a 3-0 defeat to Brentford that the two clubs had agreed a £45million deal for the 28-year-old.

The Fulham boss said: "I got information before the match, and now information from the club after the match that he is on his way to leaving the club.

"Both clubs have an agreement. He forced everything to leave the club, he wanted to leave the club.

"If you ask me if it is normal? No. If you ask me if football players should behave in this way? No. That is the easy answer."

    Gunners duel Barca for Joao

Arsenal have reportedly joined Barcelona in the race to sign Manchester City outcast Joao Cancelo.

The Gunners are believed to be looking for a new defender following the devastating ACL injury to summer signing Jurrien Timber.

The former Ajax man was forced off on his Premier League debut against Nottingham Forest with an injury.

And in the week, Arsenal confirmed that Timber, 22, had sustained damage to his ACL, which could keep him out for much of the season.

After the injury to Timber, 90min have reported that Arsenal are now considering a move for Cancelo.

    Laporte in a transfer storm

Arsenal are rated serious contenders for Aymeric Laporte.

Al-Nassr are already bidding for the Manchester City centre-back.

And it’s understood City will listen to other offers for the 29-year-old.

That’s mainly because Josko Gvardiol’s arrival from RB Leipzig has pushed the Spaniard further down Etihad chief Pep Guardiola’s list of options.

Amazon 'leaked Toon's mega kit deal'

Amazon Prime accidentally leaked news of Newcastle’s mega £100million-plus kit deal with Adidas before the episodes of Toon’s documentary were hurriedly removed.

The third and fourth instalments  of ‘We are Newcastle United’ were not due out until August 25 and September 4, but a cock up meant fans could watch them yesterday until they were taken down in the afternoon.

They showed a Magpies contingent sealing a major agreement with Adidas at their Germany HQ  in “the biggest deal the club has ever done”. Narrator Alan Shearer starts off: “It could be worth hundreds of millions of pounds in kit and retail sales over the next five years.”

Adidas made Newcastle’s iconic strips in the 1990s. And co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi tells Adidas chiefs that "it feels like two old lovers getting back together."

His wife, Amanda Staveley, says: “It’s a perfect fit. It allows us to really grow the brand and commercial value. The Newcastle group met Adidas’ CEO Bjorn Gulden at their ‘World of Sports’ campus near Nuremberg.

Gulden walks in with his arm in a sling and when asked what happened, he jokes: “I’ve just been in a budget meeting about Newcastle United!”

On how big this could be for the Geordies as they battle Financial Fair Play rules, commercial officer Peter Silverstone explains that it "has the potential to be the most lucrative partnership the club has ever had.”

The Reds are determined to further bolster their midfield prior to the transfer deadline.

Jurgen Klopp's side have lost Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain since last season concluded.
