YOANE WISSA struck a stoppage-time winner as Brentford stunned top-four chasing West Ham.
Sub Wissa lashed home a loose ball to snatch all three points after the Hammers had come from behind to level ten minutes from time.
It means the Bees have climbed up to seventh in the Premier League – and saw the Hammers go into the international break down in ninth instead of the fourth they had been targeting.
All the expectation around the home fans was they would turn up and stroll over a team who are in their first year in the top flight – but no-one told Brentford that.
From the outset they were sharper to the ball, and within two minutes Mbeumo was unlucky to see his shot clip the corner of the post and crossbar.
Two minutes later Mbeumo spurned another opportunity, this time steering a header from eight yards wide of the left-hand post as the Hammers were caught on the back foot.
When Ivan Toney forced Lukasz Fabianski into a low stop after ten minutes, it was a case of when not if the Bees would score, such was their dominance.
The goal finally arrived on 20 minutes, with Toney unlocking the West Ham defence with a lovely first-time pass to send Sergi Canos through.

His shot was saved by Fabianski but Mbeumo was first to the follow up and despite the keeper’s valiant efforts to save the rebound the ball just crept over the line.
West Ham only really woke up in the closing stages of the first half with Said Benrahma twice going close with efforts on the edge of the area.
And after the break the home side laid siege on the Brentford goal as they at last gained the dominance in midfield that had been all Brentford’s in the opening 45 minutes.
First Benrahma saw his 25-yard-kick tipped over by David Raya and the Brentford keeper then did well to save at the feet of Bowen.
The West Ham wide man then spurned a great chance to level when he glanced an unmarked header wide from six-yards before a fine Rico Henry block denied Vladimir Coufal.
But ten minutes from time they finally found the breakthrough as Bowen buried his half-volley into the bottom corner after Brentford only half-cleared a corner.
And it looked like the spoils would be shared until Wissa pounced on a loose ball from a corner to send the away fans into raptures.
