This entails an "increase in the number height and the integration of the Premier League's unique graphic pattern".

The changes are being made to "increase visibility" and ensure "more impact both on and off the pitch".

The Premier League badge on the sleeve of club shirts will also be re-designed to a "standalone iconic Premier League lion".

Champions Manchester City will wear a replica gold lion as they are last season's title winners.

Avery Dennison, the Premier League's official name, number and sleeve badge supplier, will be in charge of the design.

Fans will be able to purchase kits with the new font, numbers and sleeve badges from spring 2024.

Speaking about the change, Will Brass, the Premier League's chief commercial officer, said: "We wanted to work closely with Avery Dennison, using their expertise and experience to create new names and numbers which were not only clearer for those watching matches in stadiums or at home, but which also incorporated the Premier League brand more readily.

"The names and numbers have become part of the fabric of the Premier League.
