WWE Money in the Bank to be held at London's O2 Arena in July in huge boost for UK wrestling fans | The Sun

WWE is bringing Money in the Bank to London later this year, providing a huge reason for fans in the United Kingdom to be excited.

The action will be held at the O2 Arena on Saturday 1 July.

The show is coming to the capital after the incredible success WWE had when they brought Clash at the Castle to Cardiff's Principality Stadium.

62,296 fans got tickets for the event back in September last year.

Following the resignation of chairman and CEO Vince McMahon, former wrestling star Triple H is now in charge of creative decisions.

The 14-time world champion is thought to be key in the decision to bring Money in the Bank to London as he is keen to host more international events.

This will be the first time WWE have had a pay-per-view show coming live from the UK since 2003.

It will also be the first ever time Money in the Bank is held outside of the United States since it began in 2010.

Last year's version of it left WWE feeling embarrassed after they had to change the venue to a smaller arena late on, reportedly due to not selling enough tickets.

The competition features ladder matches for both men and women, with the winner receiving a contract for a championship match whenever they choose in the next year.
