90 Day Fiancé star Alina recently told Steven she’d feel more comfortable if he deleted his social media accounts. This may come as no surprise to viewers, given Steven’s recent reveal that he was unfaithful during the beginning of their relationship and that he lied about being a virgin. Now, Steven is claiming that Alina is only asking him to delete his accounts out of insecurity — but many viewers are left feeling as if those insecurities are justified given Steven’s behavior.
‘90 Day Fiancé’: Alina doesn’t trust Steven with other women
90 Day Fiancé couple Alina and Steven are struggling when it comes to faithfulness and other women. Alina already doesn’t trust Steven with other women, in part because he asked her if he could go on dates with other women during their relationship.
“I already have reasons not to trust him because he see other girls, like, spend a lot of time with female friends. He asked me if he can go on dates. And now he wants so badly to live in separate apartments. I don’t like it,” Alina told producers early in the season.
“When Steven asked me if he could date other girls, I just burst into tears because he’s in a relationship with me and he have to pay attention only on me,” she added.
These concerns were later justified. Steven revealed to Alina that he had lied about being a virgin, despite holding Alina to Mormon standards. Additionally, he revealed that he’d gotten intimate with another woman early on in their relationship, claiming that their exclusivity was not clear at the time.
Steven regrets agreeing to delete social media
Alina decided to set Steven up in a sort of sting. The 90 Day Fiancé star asked her friend, Masha, to send Steven private messages on social media in order to see if he’d start flirting with her.
Steven did reply to Masha, asking if she had a bathing suit and telling her to come to Turkey. Obviously this incensed Alina. This, combined with Steven’s infidelity and lies about his sexual history, resulted in Alina asking Steven to delete his social media accounts.
“I’m regretting promising Alina that I’m gonna delete my social media because now she’s constantly on my back about it and I feel that her asking me to delete it is coming from a place of insecurity, rather than a place of wanting our relationship to be in a better place,” Steven told producers.
This is an example of Steven trying to turn the results of his own poor behavior against Alina, by somehow making himself the victim and spinning the situation so that Alina comes out looking like a nagging, insecure, obsessive girlfriend. But in Alina’s shoes, who wouldn’t feel as if they couldn’t trust Steven?
Alina and Anna give him the smackdown
Alina’s mother, Anna, teamed up with Alina in order to point out Steven’s hypocrisy. A recent 90 Day Fiancé episode featured the mother and daughter duo asking Steven about his lies when it comes to his sexual past, and pointing out the double standards and cherry-picking he takes part in when it comes to his Mormon faith.
“Let me explain something. Without experience, faith can’t be tested. But now that I have this experience, I understand what I’m sacrificing when declining any sort of intercourse,” Steven told Alina and Anna in an attempt to cover himself.
“Don’t try to excuse yourself,” Alina shot back.
“So you pick what you feel like believing in?” asked her mother, Anna. When Steven said that’s not the case, and that he just has a “weak side,” Anna doubled down.
“So, it’s looking like you can live without coffee but not without sex?” she asked.
