USUALLY, Strictly Come Dancing is where you go when you want a relationship to end, given its infamous romantic curse.
But newly single Anna Richardson, who split from long-term partner Sue Perkins last month, hopes it could be the start of a new chapter.
The Naked Attraction host wants to take part in this year’s series, having turned down every reality show going — including I’m A Celebrity and Dancing On Ice.
Anna revealed: “I think Strictly as a whole is a different ball game because you’re learning, you’re doing a skill and I think that would be an incredible opportunity.
“I’m A Celebrity, Dancing On Ice, anything that involves getting injured or ritual humiliation, I’m just too old. I’m just not a fan of it.
“But Strictly would be an opportunity. Being paired with somebody like Gorka (Marquez) would be amazing.
‘BRING OUT THE WORST’
“You want someone you can have a really good laugh with and who is handsome.”
If she needs any advice on taking part in the show, she can ask her latest co-star Len Goodman, Strictly’s former head judge.
Anna is appearing with the ballroom legend on C4’s Can I Improve My Memory?, which airs tomorrow night at 8pm.
She added: “I’ve been asked to do reality shows and I’ve always turned them down because they inevitably bring out the worst in people.
“Even just doing this memory show, it pushes you to the limit.
“I’ve always avoided reality shows because I know exactly what people are looking for.
“I think I’d probably try to avoid the shadow sides of my personality as much as possible.”
On Strictly, there really is nowhere to hide.

Brad Takes Off King
BRADLEY Walsh gets co-host Holly Willoughby all shook up with a rendition of Viva Las Vegas alongside an Elvis impersonator in the opening episode of their new game show Take Off With Bradley & Holly.
The series opener, which airs this Saturday on BBC1, gives members of the public the chance to win seats on a plane to Las Vegas.
A source said: “With two hit albums under his belt, Bradley doesn’t need much cajoling to turn out a song, as Holly well knows.
“She asks him to close the show and sing out with Elvis, which he happily does.”
What a teddy bear.
Jodie’s rubbish clothes
AS a model, Jodie Kidd would have worn some bizarre creations on the catwalk – but the wackiness will go through the roof now she’s signed up to new C4 show Trash Monsters.
The series sees celebs wearing the contents of their bins for a week – to highlight food waste and the need to recycle more.
Jodie will be joined by ex-footballer John Barnes and they started filming this week.
A source said: “Jodie and John are the final signings for Trash Monsters. They will be on the show alongside Kerry Katona.
“It’s got to be one of the weirdest shows coming up, but it’s got a big message.
“The celebs will be facing up to their own consumer habits and looking at how much their households waste every week. They will then be wearing the contents of their bins to show them just how much they throw away.”
I think this has the recipe to be anything but rubbish.
A SHOW celebrating People Just Do Nothing’s rise from web series to Bafta-winning comedy and new movie is coming to BBC Three in August.
Ahead of their first spin-off film – Big In Japan – the team will reflect on their journey in Kurupting The Industry: The People Just Do Nothing Story.
Ed: Ricky left me in tears
ED Sheeran cried hysterically while watching After Life – Ricky Gervais’ bittersweet comedy about grief – following the death of his music industry pal Michael Gudinski.
The Mushroom Records founder died in March and his funeral was attended by a string of chart-toppers, including Ed, who performed a duet there with Kylie Minogue.
Ed said: “I had a mate who passed away very unexpectedly at the same time as I became a dad, turning 30. It was the first time I didn’t feel young.
“It took me so long to watch After Life because I would watch an episode and hysterically cry for two hours and be like, ‘I can’t watch another one for a couple of months’.
“Then I’d go back and watch one and it’s the same thing.
“It’s a beautiful show but it’s moving to watch. It’s heavy.”
The Netflix series follows Ricky’s character deciding to do and say whatever he wants after the death of his wife.
Production on a third series started in April.
It’s niche Lorraine
EASTENDERS star Lorraine Stanley pretends that fans know her from porn when they recognise her on the street.
The actress, who has played lovable cleaner Karen Taylor in the BBC1 soap for four years, is constantly stopped by people when she’s out and about.
Lorraine said: “When people say, ‘Where do I recognise you from?’ I go, ‘The top shelf? Lorraine Does Dallas?’ ”
And the cheeky TV star says if she were to stop acting she might become a stripper.
She added: “If I could retrain as something I think I’d be a therapist, a counsellor or something like that. I like helping people, so maybe I could be a carer or a therapist.
“Or a stripper! If you’ve got it, you might as well flaunt it.”
