Antiques Road Trip experts left in hysterics as auctioneer takes desperate step to sell item | The Sun

ANTIQUES Road Trip experts were left in hysterics as an auctioneer took a desperate step to sell an item.

On Tuesdays episode of the BBC programme, antiques experts Izzie Balmer and Ishy Khan headed through the Pennines on the hunt for items to take to auction.

They ended up with a mixed bag of items, includingglassware for afternoon tea and fishing tackle.

But it was a Squirrel Cage Swift that really received a mixed response in the auction room.

The antiques dealer even described it as an "old wool winder thingy", with Ishy paying £17 for it.

He said: "How it would work is you'd have yarn and you would use this to make balls of wool, really.

He dropped the price and said: "Come on. I'd look nice in your bathroom with two toilet rolls on."

The room laughed, including the two experts with Izzie adding it was a "good idea".
