Ghosts: Season four trailer released by BBC
Ghosts saw cash-strapped married couple Alison (played by Charlotte Richie) and Mike Cooper (Kiell Smith-Bynoe) move into a rickety country mansion, Button House after she inherited the building from her distant aunt. Little did they know at the time they would also be living with a cohort of ghosts from different centuries. For the past four seasons, fans have welcomed Alison, Mike and the spirits into their own homes but now it’s time to say goodbye.
Ghosts was last seen in August 2022 and was renewed for a fifth outing a few months later.
The cast and crew have since been busy filming the six new episodes and announced that shooting has come to an end but it is bittersweet as they also revealed this will be the final series.
Taking to Twitter, the creators wrote: “After five incredible years haunting the halls of Button House, we have decided that the time is right to let our beloved sitcom Ghosts rest in peace.
“We have just wrapped filming on our fifth and final series and we can’t wait to share it with you all later this year.
“We could never have imagined the reception the show has enjoyed, or the fun we have had making it, and we would like to thank our amazing cast and crew as well as everyone at BBC Comedy, BBC1 and Monumental Television for their tireless support.
“But most of all we’d like to thank everyone who watches. Mathew, Martha, Simon, Jim, Laurence and Ben x”
