BBC Strictly pro fuels Angela Rippon ‘fix’ claims after defending dance

Strictly: Angela Rippon on her slip during dance

Strictly Come Dancing’s Angela Rippon and professional partner Kai Widdrington fuelled the current fix claims after he defended their performance on Saturday night.

At the weekend, Kai and Angela performed the Paso Doble to Hung Up by Madonna but were put into the dance-off after Angela made a visible mistake.

However, it was newsreader Krishnan Guru-Murthy and his partner Lauren Oakley who were sent home by the judges.

Angela and Kai appeared on It Takes Two on Tuesday evening to discuss her routine and Kai left viewers fuming over his remarks.

When asked about their performance by Fleur East, Angela noted: “The dance was quite different from anything we’ve done before.

Kai noted: “Angela’s been there before, we were there the week before. There was no way on earth I was letting you go home even if we completely fell off the [side of the dancefloor].

“We did enough, we had a good score. I think you deserved your place at Blackpool so.”
