Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Nikita Kuzmin has opened up to fans about his journey, struggles and symptoms living with Type 1 diabetes.
To mark World Diabetes Day, the 25 year old year old, who is partnered this year with Layton Williams on the hit BBC show, spoke out to his 217k followers to support and lend some advice.
He said: "Did you know that today is World Diabetes Day?
"Thanks to Dexcom, I know when I can take a break from my long dance training sessions!
He added that this year for World diabetes Day, @dexcomuk are asking for the community to share the things that they would like the world to know about life with diabetes.
He said: "Diabetes can sometimes feel like an invisible battle and raising awareness around both the highs and lows, as well as the key symptoms of diabetes, is essential; increased thirst, tiredness, weight loss and toilet use.
"Whilst everyone's symptoms can be different you shoulld always consult a healthcare professional if you experience these.
"What would you like the world to know? Get involved by sharing a selfie with your message on your channel."
Fans praised the professional dancer for his openness. One mother said: "My daughter was diagnosed in April and when she saw your Dexcom she was s happy that you can so what you do with Type 1. Keeping showing that Dexcom and inspiring young people."
Another added: "You are a true inspiration to millions."
A Dexcom CGM system tracks your glucose levels continuously throughout the day and night. Your glucose reading is sent to your smart device as frequently as every five minutes meaning those who have Type 1 diabetes can live a much easier lifestyle.
Nikita who hails from Ukraine, has quickly become a favourite among fans since he joined the show in 2021.
He's bagged multiple Latin championships and made his debut on the BBC One hit show when he was paired with Tilly Ramsay, Gordon Ramsay's daughter.
Last year, Nikita danced with Paralympian Ellie Simmonds, and they became the sixth couple to leave the competition. This year, he's showing off his moves with Bad Education star Layton Williams.
The professional recently opened up about the moment he was diagnosed with diabetes as a teen and confessed: "I mean, first of all, the message I would really love to send to all the kids and general people is that this is our superpower.
Nikita has had to overcome some serious hurdles in his career. His Type 1 diabetes requires daily monitoring and to keep track of his blood sugar levels, he uses a Libre sensor, a white patch on the back of his arm.
