As Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) attempts to assist Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) in the search for her mum in EastEnders, he decides to tell her a massive secret about his past.
Bobby was revealed to be Lucy Beale’s murderer in 2015. The ‘Who killed Lucy Beale?’ storyline gripped the nation, with the likes of Max Branning (Jake Wood), Peter Beale (played by Ben Hardy at the time) and Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) all being named as possible suspects.
The truth was revealed in a special flashback episode, with Bobby then being sent to a young offenders unit and returning in 2019.
After his crime, Bobby worked hard to change his life around and has been successful in doing so. He works at the chippy, lives with Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) and Rocky (Brian Conley), is best mates with Freddie (Bobby Brazier) and soon, decides to offer some advice to Anna, who is trying to find out more about her missing mum.

We know that Anna and Gina’s (Francesca Henry) mum – Rose Knight – is actually Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins). She is currently living in France with Ian (Adam Woodyatt) and Peter (now played by Thomas Law) and was recently given the news that her she no longer had to live undercover as Rose and could return to England if she wanted.
While living as Rose, Cindy started a relationship with George (Colin Salmon). She then disappeared from the family, leaving the Knights with many unanswered questions.
Coming up, after a heard to heard with Bobby and Freddie, Anna decides to go through with her decision to look for her mum and meets with a private investigator to share information about Rose going missing.
During a chat with Anna, Bobby reveals the truth about Lucy’s death but then, to his shock, he learns that Anna is already aware of his involvement.
But how?
Could it have simply been through researching Bobby online?
Or was Anna told some information previously about the Beales?
