Casualty trailer hints at Zoe Hanna’s return
Casualty have released a new teaser trailer, which shows at the return of much loved character Dr Zoe Hanna (played by Sunetra Sarker).
However, her return is bittersweet for fans as it is to tie in with the exit storyline for the show’s longest running character Charlie Fairhead (Derek Thompson)
Sunetra was last seen in the Holby ED over seven years ago after playing the medic for almost a decade but she revealed earlier this month that she had returned to shoot Charlie’s final scenes.
“This week, I was in the hospital but not as a patient, I might have gone back to a certain hospital that I used to work at,” she teased while appearing as a panellist on Loose Women.
“It’s been a while! Eight years nearly since I’ve been there. I’m going back for a special double episode because our lovely Charlie who’s been there forever is going to leave the show.

“So, I’m going back to make sure I get my last little moment with him. That was a really nice thing this week, I’ve been filming with them,” she said.
The trailer also hints at the fate of Nigel Harman’s character Dr Max Christie as he is seen collapsing.
While the character of Max has been battling kidney disease in the drama, Nigel is currently competing in Strictly Come Dancing and will perform his first dance with professional partner Katya Jones tonight.
The trailer comes as the BBC announced that the show is on hiatus. Although it only returned for an astonishing 38th season a few weeks ago. But, following a double episode last week, it is now off screens for a while.
Posting the clip on X, formerly known as Twitter, they captioned it: “Casualty is on a break and will be back on your screens later this year.”
Fans of the show were not amused with this news and made their feelings known.
