Coronation concert viewers slam ‘boring’ event and ‘appalling’ sound

The Coronation Concert has been hugely hyped for the past several weeks featuring performances from the likes of Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Take That to name a few.

However, viewers at home are not impressed with the show with people criticising the “boring” line up and the sound.

Taking to Twitter in their droves they vented their feelings about the live event.

@kellilelliloola wrote: “Since Pete Tong kicked it off, ironically, it’s all gone Pete Tong since. Boring as f***. #CoronationConcert.”

Someone calling themselves @Oldcynic9 was relieved they didn’t attend tweeting: “Well all I can say is I’m flipping glad I didn’t apply for tickets. It’s a bit sh*** so far! #CoronationConcert.”

A Twitter user going by the handle @DawnMoore6 got the impression that even King Charles wasn’t enjoying the proceedings.

“Dear god this #CoronationConcert is so boring. No wonder the #kings looks bored,” she proclaimed.

There were also numerous viewers complaining about the sound quality of the concert.

@thesampattison commented: “I wish the bbc would sort the sound out!!!! #CoronationConcert.”

@ZenGlowLife noted: “The sound quality is shocking bad on all of this, I can barely hear this #CoronationConcert.”

Meanwhile @megwoke tweeted: “As usual, the BBC has got the sound all wrong #coronationconcert.”

@uncollectedtots echoed this sentiment writing: “Sound quality is appalling BBC, sort it out! #CoronationConcert.”

@Boppity_Boo34 was another viewer who had sound issues tweeting: “Jeez the sound is horrible on the bbc #CoronationConcert.”

Elsewhere a user called @DarceyButtell stated: “Sound is appalling. I’d be back in the car park by now. Sod this. #CoronationConcert.”

The line-up was also a source of consternation for viewers with @lucyessex writing: “The lineup is a bit pants aint it? Kinda glad I’m at home where I can turn over for that acts that I said ‘Who?’ at. #CoronationConcert.”

@NichollsLiese felt the same commenting: “WHAT a line up…. Haven’t heard of half of them!?! #CoronationConcert.”

Meanwhile @sianpatrick was also not impressed with the performers tweeting: “This #CoronationConcert is nowhere near as good as the Jubilee gig last year. Not got a clue who half the singers are!”

This comes as British global superstar Ed Sheeran revealed he wasn’t even asked to perform at the concert, which took place in the grounds of Windsor Castle. “No one ever asked me [to perform],” the Shape of You singer said in an interview on SiriusXM.

“I assume if they went online and went ‘what’s Ed doing on May 6’ they would go ‘oh he’s playing in Dallas’ so I think that’s what’s happened,” he speculated.

“I never ever turned it down. I wasn’t asked but yeah, I am excited to tune into that. Historic, isn’t it?”
