Coronation Street fans were left in hysterics on Monday's episode as Sally Metcalfe was arrested in an ITV soap twist.
During the latest instalment, Tim Metcalfe underwent his heart operation and just as he was about to be operated on he saw Sally fighting off police in the hospital ward corridor.
And when he regained consciousness, Tim told Kevin Webster that he had a bizarre dream that Sally had been arrested.
However, Tim didn't realise that Kevin and Faye Windass were keeping a big secret from him as they attempted to stop him from reading the front page of the Weatherfield Gazette.
But after realising there was something suspicious going on, Kevin admitted that Sally had been arrested as he showed a stunned Tim the paper, where it saw a picture of Sally's public urination with the headline: "New Year's wee."
They then explained that the paper had been demanding that the police find Sally for the public order offence and she was arrested due to criminal damage as she refused to leave the hospital so put up a fight, kicking a vending machine in the process.
Later in the episode, Sally returned to the hospital to see Tim where she revealed that she had been let off with a caution as the two shared a laugh together.
Soap watchers were left in hysterics over the scenes as they took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
One person said: "Sally got arrested for having a wee I'm screaming. What next? #Corrie," followed with crying laughing emojis.
A different account put: "Sally getting arrested for having a wee in the gardens is the funniest thing to happen in #Corrie in 2022 so far."
Another follower commented: "Sally arrested for having a wee #Corrie," followed with laughing emojis.
While a different fan added: "Sally getting arrested for kicking a vending machine is just perfection. #Corrie."
It comes after Emmerdale and Coronation Street announced big changes to their weeknight scheduling amid a huge ITV shake-up.
Following the news that ITV is extending its national and international news programming, Emmerdale and Corrie will both have new slots and become part of the channel’s "super soap" nights.
From March, Emmerdale will air at a brand new time of 7.30pm, rather than 7pm, as viewers count down to the explosive 50th anniversary celebrations.
While soap fans will be able to get their Corrie fix during hour-long episodes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings at 8pm, instead of two hour-long episodes and a double bill on Fridays. This means Corrie will now be going head-to-head with BBC One's EastEnders.
Coronation Street continues on weekdays on ITV.
