Corrie star Adam Hussain issues apology for liking Andrew Tate tweets

Coronation Street star Adam Hussain has apologised for liking numerous tweets sent by online misogynist Andrew Tate, who was recently released from house arrest after allegations of forced labour of women.

It is said that Corrie actor Adam, best known for playing Aadi Alahan in the soap, ‘liked’ tweets from the controversial former kickboxer, who has over six million followers, including a post-release message which read: ‘The Truth Will Prevail.’

Others included: ’30 more days on house arrest. 30 more days suppressed.

‘I haven’t been free for a single day this year. The battle rages against Shaitan.’

As well as, ‘Any man whos afraid to professionally fight isn’t allowed to discuss mindset on the timeline [sic].’

He has shared his remorse, saying he is ‘sorry for offence caused’.

Tate and his brother Tristan are currently being investigated in Romania over suspected human trafficking, rape and sexual exploitation of women, as well as supposed links to organised crime.

Throughout the house arrest, many tweets were sent from Tate’s account, issuing claims that the truth was being ‘concealed’.

At one point during his time incarcerated, the account made assertions of a release, with comments including ‘Matrix attack failed’.

Three British women are planning to sue Andrew Tate over claims he subjected them to sexual assault, physical abuse and controlling behaviour.

The claimants- in their late twenties and early thirties- say they suffered physical injury and psychological harm at the hands of Tate, which has prevented them from working or living a normal life for many years.

They understood to have contacted the police over their alleged abuse eight years ago, but say detectives dropped the charges after failing to properly investigate their case.

Tate denies all claims.

Adam has now issued an apology after The Sun reported on his interaction with the tweets, asserting that he wasn’t across Tate’s background.

In a statement, he has said: ‘I’m really sorry if my “liking” of these tweets has caused any offence to our viewers and my colleagues.

‘I wasn’t aware of Andrew Tate and his background and I would never endorse those views.

‘I liked some of his tweets in the moment with no reference to his back story. I will be more careful in future.’

Adam’s character is this week at the centre of major scenes, in which he has angrily confronted Aaron (James Craven) after it emerged he had raped Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney).

In an act of revenge, he scrawled the word ‘rapist’ on Aaron’s head while he slept.
