ITV skating competition Dancing on Ice is back, and five competitors have now been booted out. With the remaining contestants showcasing varying levels of ability, fans have noticed some celebrities seem to make it through to the next round regardless of their subpar skills. Sally was the latest celebrity to spark uproar amongst viewers as they questioned how the Coronation Street was saved over Bez, despite not fulfilling the requirements of the judges’ challenge.
It was Musicals Week on Dancing on Ice, with the skating pairs performing to some of the most well-known show tunes out there.
Musical theatre veteran Arlene Phillips joined the judges Oti Mabuse, Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill, and Christopher Dean.
Sally went up against Bez in the skate-off after both received low scores and negative feedback from the judges.
The Coronation Street star’s performance as Maria Von Trapp from the Sound of Music failed to impress many spectators too.

Her score of 31.5 out of 50 forced outraged viewers to question the show’s authenticity as, in their eyes, other celebrities deserved higher scores.
Fans went on to claim the show was “rigged” to keep the ITV favourite in the competition when she was saved from elimination.
While she scored Sally a low five for her skate, Arlene’s declaration she would save the star because she was a “beautiful actress” infuriated many viewers.
Allan Law tweeted: “Nah Sally does less skating than Bez. Doesn’t do the judges challenge properly, yet scores way higher than Bez. Shows actually rigged shes awful. #DancingOnIce.”
Robert Cooksley commented: “Show rigged Sally did not do the required challenge.”
“#DancingOnIce #DOI Sally didn’t do the Judges Challenge on her own,” Thomas Brooks pointed out.
Poppy Skinner tweeted: “#dancingonice that is just a pure insult! What skating ability? Sally didn’t even complete the judges challenge and then didn’t even skate alone Bez was wrongly sent home!!”
Peter Gough added: “But Sally didn’t actually skate…. Not on her own anyway!! #DancingOnIce.”

Chloe Griffiths shared: “Hmm Bez isn’t the best skater – noted. However Sally did not let go of Matt’s hand during that skate off, yet Bez skated most of his skate alone. #DancingOnIce.”
However, there were many who agreed with Bez going home after Oti and Ashely stated he relies too much on theatrics and distractions.
The Happy Mondays star wore his trademark ice skating crash helmet and attempted an ice dance to Bat Out of Hell.
His performance included a motorcycle on the ice, flamethrowers and even an aerial hoop with bat wings that he ended the performance on.
All of these elements seemed to be sensory overload for many onlookers as Fiona proclaimed: “It was less Bat out of Hell and more Tortoise out of Hibernation. Well done Bez! #DOI #dancingonice.”
“Pretty sure they spent the entire budget on Bez #DOI,” Georgina added, while Thom posted: “Can we send Bez home already stop rewarding horrible performances #DancingOnIce #DOI”. (sic)
Meanwhile on the show, Brendan Cole scored the first 10 of the competition despite dancing with professional Brendyn Hatfield as Vanessa Bauer had to isolate.
The pair performed a Jersey Boys performance which wowed guest judge Arlene.
Dancing on Ice returns on Sunday at 6pm on ITV.
