Dancing on Ice star Brendan Cole stuns Holly and Phil by saying the show IS fixed

DANCING on Ice star Brendan Cole stunned This Morning presenters Holly Willoughby and Phil Schofield by saying the show IS a fix.

The three remaining celebs in this year's competition – Brendan, Regan Gascoigne and Kimberly Wyatt – appeared on the the ITV show earlier today.

During their chat Phil highlighted that the remaining three all have a dancing background – and addressed the rumours that viewers think that the programme is a "fix" and that it's "unfair" because of that.

Phil said: "No matter how many times you get people like Jayne and Chris saying yeah you can dance, and that might give you a little more elegance, it's not taught you how to skate.

"You are all dancers, but you're learning to skate for the first time…"

Brendan replied: "It's been a really nice thing for all of us. We've pushed each other with our dancing abilities.

"When I see Regan do something and he does something really beautifully, it makes me want to be better, same with Kimberly, so I think that push between the three of us in particular has been good for us, and hopefully the series…"

The New Zealand ballroom dancer concluded: "So yes it's a fix because we're all really good dancers…

"No, trust me it is very, very different on the ice."

Regan added: "Yeah I think we're so used to taking on routines, I think that does help.

"But when it comes to the ice skating, it is totally different. There's a right and a wrong, everything has to be in a sequence and a step, but maybe I know how to hold my arms and stuff, but that is about it.

"Everything else is just brand new!"

Back in February Brendan denied having an advantage over his Dancing On Ice co-stars thanks to his 15 years on Strictly Come Dancing.

Since the show started in January, the 45-year-old has received harsh criticism from viewers thanks to his dance background.

He previously said: "I think everybody’s got their own strength and weakness.

"And you can’t compare apples with pears. Yes, I find it easy to pick up choreography because it’s something I’ve done for many years, whereas somebody else may struggle.

"There’s definitely a competition within a competition for the ones that have dance experience, of which there are a few."

Days later viewers raged after the star opened the show AGAIN and received a perfect score after "fix" row.

Fans moaned after seeing him kick off the show, with one frustrated fan tweeting, "here we go, starting with Brendan and Vanessa".

Many fumed on Twitter after fans claimed last week that the ballroom dancer had been given an advantage in the ITV series by being the first celeb to take to the ice each week.

Brendan and his partner Vanessa Bauer kicked off the quarter finals with a stunning performance to Let's Face The Music And Dance from the film Follow The Fleet.

They ended their routine with a successful headbanger, and it earned them another perfect score of 40.

One angry viewer said on Twitter: "dont care how good he is and despite what they say dancers have an advantage…"

Another person said: "Don’t care what anyone says Brendan has the biggest advantage in this competition. Yes Kimberly and Regan have dance background too but they aren’t used to partner work and lifts. All Brendan needs to is learn how to skate and he’s good to go."
