DANIEL Craig is stepping into the shoes of legendary spy James Bond for the final time in No Time To Die.
The 53-year-old actor first joined the franchise back in 2006 – but he had a few stipulations before agreeing to the role.
Daniel joined No Time To Die's official six-part podcast to share what prompted him to take on the iconic James Bond title and some of the reservations he had about the franchise.
"I just said I can't do an impression of something that's come before," he explained. "I can't recreate what you've done before. Brilliant though that is, I can't do it."
He added, "I can come in and try and reinvent it, because that to me is fascinating and interesting."
Although Craig admitted that, in retrospect, his demands were "so arrogant, it's ridiculous", the producers were receptive to his ideas.
"Instead of them saying "Thanks very much, bye", they (the producers) said "yeah, that's exactly what we want to do."
After getting the reassurance he needed, Daniel signed up – and the rest is history.
His time as James Bond has since spanned an epic five films – Casino Royale,Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, Spectre and No Time To Die.
As Daniel leaves the franchise behind fans are now wondering who is likely to replace him, with the bookies favoring Bridgerton hearthrob Rege-Jean Page.
Other likely candidates include Inception star Tom Hardy, Grantchester's James Norton and Bond actress Lashana Lynch.
