This Morning presenters Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond welcomed Boyzone star Keith Duffy and Westlife’s Brian McFadden onto the ITV daytime show on Tuesday morning. The two singers were on the show to chat about how they’ve joined forces to make the supergroup Boyzlife. However, Dermot had to swiftly make an apology at the beginning of the interview as Brian pointed out an error during their introduction.

Gearing up for their interview with the musicians, This Morning played a collection of greatest hits by Westlife and Boyzone.

However, Brian soon highlighted an issue with one of the tracks they played.

Alison began: “Westlife and Boyzone combine forces once more, Keith Duffy and Brian McFadden team up for Boyzlife and they join us now.

“You just said, earlier on we played a tune, Brian…” the presenter began.

Brian cut in, explaining: “You played You Raise Me Up. It’s the only one that I actually wasn’t in.

“I’d actually left the band. I was retired at that stage,” he revealed.

Getting the giggles over the mistake, Alison tried her best to joke about the error.

She remarked: “So you saw that happening and you were like ‘Ahh why did I leave?’”

Keith chimed in: “You played the one song that’s nothing to do with either of us, which is great!”

Clearly mortified by the mistake, Dermot quickly apologised to the Boyzlife duo.

Dermot exclaimed: “This is literally so awkward! I’m so sorry!”

“21 number ones and you picked the one that we’re not part of,” Keith laughed.

The studio erupted with laughter as Dermot put his head in his hands.

“It is a great song though,” Brian remarked, showing support for his former bandmates.

Keith teased: “Great research guys, great research.”

Luckily the singing stars saw the funny side of the blunder and there were lots more laughs throughout the interview.

This Morning viewers soon took to Twitter to share their thoughts on Keith and Brian’s appearance on the ITV show.

“Loved that interview with #boyzlife, proper giggle a minute. One of the best interviews I’ve watched with Alison and Dermot #ThisMorning,” @JoviGirl_1980 commented.

“Just rushing off to buy Boyzlife tickets #ThisMorning,” @Stepharrnee enthused.

Boyzlife’s new album Old School is set to be released May 6th 2022.

This Morning airs weekdays at 11am on ITV.
