EastEnders viewers have taken to social media to predict how Max Branning (Jake Wood) will leave the BBC One soap tonight.
The Walford ladies man will bid farewell to Walford during Friday's episode and some fans are convinced he will be murdered.
Max recently exposed Mick Carter's (Danny Dyer) child abuse hell in dramatic scenes.
Mick threatened to kill the businessman after he almost revealed his dark secret to pub goers in the Queen Vic.
The pair haven't seen eye to eye since Max began an affair with Mick's wife Linda (Kellie Bright).
During a heated row, Max said: "I only want what's best for her, and you. You think this is going to sort your marriage out, Mick?
“Me keeping my distance. You know why she's with you, don't you? Pity."
An angry Mick then punched Max in a violent showdown and warned: "Come near my wife again and I'll kill you."
Eastenders fans are now convinced Max will be killed in his final episode.
Taking to Twitter, one fan said: "Why do I have a feeling Max is gonna get killed off."
A second person pointed out: ""Max's exit is definitely linked to Mick."
Anther predicted: "They've only just wrapped up the 'Who tried to kill Ian?' storyline and we've got 'Who killed Max?' to look forward to?
While a fourth social media user said: "Oh, Max. Silly boy. You are a dead man walking."
While some viewers may be convinced Max will leave Albert Square in a wooden box, Jake Wood previously revealed that the door has been left open for his alter-ego to return.
During his appearance on Good Morning Britain in December, Jake said: "One of the security guys when I drove in last week said, 'Sorry you’re leaving, are you going in a cab or a coffin?’"
Host Piers Morgan went on to ask if Jake, 48, knew how his character leaves the soap.
Jake revealed: "I do, it’s not going to be a cab exactly but they’re leaving the door open so I’m pleased."
Fans will have to watch tonight to find out how Max leaves Albert Square.
Jake bid farewell to the set of the BBC One soap for a final time after 16 years in December last year.
He filmed an emotional clip at the time where he said his goodbyes and reflected on how much he will miss his co-stars.
Max's final scenes will air on February 19, the same day the serial drama marks its 36th anniversary.
EastEnders continues on BBC One on Friday at 8.05pm
