Ed Sheeran tells meddling neighbours to 'mind their own business' after planning disputes

ED SHEERAN has hit back after I told how local council busy-bodies were once again wading into his business.

The superstar, who releases new single Bad Habits today, told the bores to wind their beaks in.

Asked about the planning disputes at his Suffolk home, the latest of which I told you about on Wednesday, Ed said: “People need to mind their own business.”

His £3.7million estate has been dubbed Sheeranville, but Ed continued: “I didn’t name it that. I tried to change the name of it to The Shire because I love The Hobbit. But it got denied.”

Ed put his point across on Hits Radio Breakfast show this morning.

The superstar, who dressed as a (ginger-haired) vampire in the video for his new track, has been hard at work on his next album. Ed also revealed he has recorded a collaboration with Lewis Capaldi.

He explained “Most of my lockdown was spent on the phone to him. He reminds me so much of myself on my first album.

"I know how much pressure he’s putting on himself and the label is putting on him.

“Second albums are so important so we just called a lot, and we’ve had long chats about life. We wrote a tune, and it’s actually pretty good.”

Ed also opened up about becoming a dad. Wife Cherry Seaborn gave birth to daughter Lyra in August.

He revealed Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid is Lyra’s godfather and he confirmed the tot’s middle name, Antarctica, was linked to where she was conceived.

Ed and Cherry visited the chilly continent on his hiatus. Ed said: “We got home and Cherry was pregnant. It was something we wanted to have in her name. People see it as weird, but it’s less about where she was made and more about it being special.”

Fans loving Bad Habits won’t have to wait long for Ed’s next release. He also appeared on Radio 1’s Breakfast show today where he confirmed his next album, believed to be called Minus, would be out in “in autumn”.

Ed added: “I recorded the first song from it [in] June 2017 and I’ve just been chipping away at it.”

LADY AND TODDLA HAVE A SHURR HIT

LADY Leshurr and Toddla T have teamed up for a rendition of The Farm’s 1990 classic All Together Now as part of JD Sport’s #JDPassItOn campaign on TikTok.

The Farm singer Peter Hooton said: “We love the way Lady Leshurr and Toddla T have used the All Together Now chorus in the track.

“This truly reflects the culture of modern Britain and reflects the sentiment of the song. Sport is for all – unity is strength.”

Meanwhile, The Vaccines’ new album Back In Love City will drop on September 10 and the title track has been released.

S CLUB 7 legend Jo O'Meara also revealed the name of her next record is With Love and comes out on August 27, with the first track from it, On The Surface, out now.

And rappers Krept & Konan’s unofficial England Euros song Olé (We Are England ’21) is out today, ready for Tuesday’s big game against Germany.

More trouble

MUMFORD & SONS have confirmed my story that guitarist Winston Marshall has left the group after he praised a right wing pundit.

The band posted on Instagram: “We wish you all the best for the future, Win, and we love you man.” Marshall said staying would “bring my bandmates more trouble”.

ILLNESS STALLS JESSIE J

SHE made her comeback this month with summer banger I Want Love.

But Jessie J has revealed she has had to put her singing on ice after falling ill.

An emotional Jessie says she is struggling with acid reflux and told fans she could not perform because it could damage her voice. She explained: “The issue is something in my body that is causing major acid reflux.

“It puts my vocal cords at risk if I sing with it. It hurts and burns. I am doing everything that I can.”

Speaking directly to her fans on Instagram Live, the Do It Like A Dude singer – who is expected to release her fifth studio album this year – said she was undergoing tests today.

Jessie added: “They put a tube down your nose and into your stomach and you have to have the probe in there for 24 hours. Then I am having an endoscopy on Tuesday where they knock me out and go down there with a camera.

“I shouldn’t have Googled it. But at least I’ll have some answers to why I turned 33 and my body said, ‘Girl, we’re going to f**k you up.’”

Wishing you a speedy recovery, Jessie.

VERSACE’S DU-ERROR

DUA Lipa will be unveiled as the latest star of Versace’s new ad campaign today – a day after the Italian fashion house accidentally let it slip due to a social media fail.

Posting a video online yesterday, the brand’s boss Donatella Versace said: “I have a secret, come to my Instagram tomorrow to find out the face of the Versace Winter/Fall campaign.”

Meanwhile, the firm posted this picture on its Instagram account, clearly showing the pop star’s distinctively tattooed hands.

They should have made her wear gloves.

BECKY A HILL OF A GRAFTER

HER new song is called Remember and I sure won’t forget Becky Hill after watching her latest video.

The promo for her track with superstar David Guetta drops today and I had a sneak peek of it.

It sees her dancing around a mansion with girl friends while wearing various colourful outfits.

Becky said: “My whole career has built up to this. I have a sure-fire single with David Guetta and an album I’ve spent my whole adult life making finally coming out.

“I’ve grafted and strived to reach this milestone for a few years now and my patience has definitely been tested.

“But it’s been worth the wait, as my creativity and vision for the album has now come to full fruition.”

Becky also has a tour in the autumn, festival dates including Reading and Leeds and a performance at the opening match of new cricket competition The Hundred on July 21 at The Oval in London. She’s hitting nothing but sixes at the moment.
