Emmerdale and Coronation Street stars lead major and 'sexy' new Netflix series

Emmerdale’s Max Parker will star in a brand new Netflix series with former Coronation Street actress Amy James-Kelly, which debuts later this month.

Max, who portrayed Luke Posner in Emmerdale, will star opposite Amy, who is best known as Corrie’s Maddie Heath, in historical drama Blood, Sex and Royalty.

The upcoming series will document and explore the early days of King Henry VIII, played by Max, and his turbulent marriage with Anne Boleyn.

A source told The Sun that the upcoming historical adaptation will feature many a ‘steamy’ scene, featuring a younger version of Henry VIII than the one we’d usually see on our screens.

Max took to social media to share news of his new project with his fans, writing: ‘When life gave me lockdown lemons and an opening in my diary, I was so grateful this came up!

‘And I got to play the OG British bad boy himself.

‘BLOOD, SEX AND ROYALTY comes out on Netflix (NOV 23rd) so go check it out!

‘Big thanks to @netflix @netflixuk and @nutopiatv.’

Max is best known to audiences for having played Luke Posner in Emmerdale between 2019 and 2021.

He decided to leave the serial drama in May last year, with his final scenes airing the following September.

‘Max was never going to stay on the soap for years,’ a source told The Sun at the time.

‘He’s ambitious and a talented guy – he’s already auditioning for new roles and excited for the future.’

Max’s character Luke is currently embroiled in a huge storyline at the time of his exit, after it was discovered that he had been catfishing Ethan Anderson (Emile John)

When telling mum Wendy (Susan Cookson) about what he’d done, Luke opened up about about what really happened in the past with his boyfriend Stephen.

He confirmed that the relationship was an ‘intense’ one, and was even planning on introducing Stephen to Wendy.

Amy, meanwhile, played Maddie Heath on Corrie between 2013 and 2015.

Blood, Sex and Royalty can be streamed on Netflix from Wednesday November 23.
