Emmerdale fans confused by Mack prison threat as he says he has ‘friends inside’

Emmerdale fans have been left confused by Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) after he threatened Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) during Wednesday night's episode.

Mack and Aaron have been butting heads recently after Aaron took the brunt of the blame for a stolen item – despite being the one to return it to Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell).

The lads had some harsh words for each other during the midweek episode, with Mackenzie making it clear Aaron should keep his name out of the ordeal – or Aaron would get a proper welcome from Mack's apparent friends if he ended up in prison.

But viewers were left confused by Mack's dark remark, considering he randomly turned up in the Yorkshire village after coming from his home of Scotland.

One said: "So he crawled out from under a rock in Scotland yet he has loads of mates in prison in Yorkshire, more than Cain has?"

A second tweeted: "What mates 'inside' would that be Mack? Considering you came down from Scotland, I don't think you'll know many cons in a Yorkshire prison."

Another laughed: "Mackenzie hasn't got any friends. He's a weirdo."

Someone else added: "'I've got a lot of friends on the inside' He ain't even got friends on the outside!"

And a fifth warned: "I wouldn't buy that threat from Mackenzie for one minute Aaron. What a bluff."

Luckily, it didn't look like Aaron took Mack and his threat too seriously.

He asked Mack: "Why shouldn't I tell [the police] the truth?"

Mack told him: "Do you think the police are going to believe you after all this time? They will think you're lying to save your skin."

He went on: "Careful pal – let's just say I've got a lot of friends on the inside and if you don't play ball like I asked you, I'll make sure they give you a proper welcome."

However Aaron laughed him off, with Mack looking quite worried himself as he took a swig from a bottle of beer.
