Emmerdale spoilers: Marlon Dingle gets horrifying news to break to Rhona Goskirk

AFTER receiving a shocking piece of news, Marlon Dingle takes it upon himself to announce it to Rhona Goskirk.

Little does he know, however, that the Emmerdale character is already well aware of he's just found out.

Word gets around fast in the Dales.

In scenes due to air on our screens next week, Marlon (played by Mark Charnock) spots the news of serial killer Pierce Harris' death in the Hotton Courier.

Shocked, he expects his partner Rhona (Zoe Henry) to be even more shaken as she was once married with the criminal before he raped her.

Marlon readies himself to break the news but is stopped in his tracks when Rhona and Vanessa tell him and Paddy (Dominic Brunt) they already knew about Pierce's death.

ITV viewers know that Rhona met up with Marcus Dean (Darcy Grey), who is none other than Pierce's long-lost son.

The meeting was organised as one of the killer's last wish before his death and behind Marlon's back, while Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) was aware of what was going on.

Vanessa was initially reluctant to help Pierce find his son as she has been kidnapped and held hostage by the killer alongside her son Johnny.

She eventually (albeit reluctantly) went along with Rhona's meeting with Marcus.

Hours after meeting, both learned Pierce had died behind bars.

Now, Rhona is left uneasy as she has her own troubling news to share with Marlon.

Marcus – who is said to be just as dangerous as his father – will be making a permanent return to the eponymous village.

But the truth is kept, once again, from Marlon and he apologises to Rhona for making everything about him after picking up on her distant mood.

Rhona's guilt weighs heavily on her, especially when Marlon suggests a mystery meeting at the café.

Later on, she is surprised and grateful to see the romantic surprise dinner Marlon made for her.

But will she take this as an opportunity to come clean to him?

Or will she keep the news to herself?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode on Thursdays at 8pm.
