Emmerdale’s Mackenzie star teases everything comes ‘tumbling down’

Emmerdale actor teases ‘everything will tumble down’ soon

After struggling with Charity Dingle’s (played by Emma Atkins) ectopic pregnancy last year, the couple decided to briefly split.
During that time Mackenzie (Lawrence Robb) had a drunken one-night stand with Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland) who later fell pregnant.

Although Mackenzie and Charity got back together and are now due to be wed, he decided to keep it a secret from his fiance that he was going to be a dad.

This week, Emmerdale viewers are set to witness their highly anticipated wedding, although it all goes askew when Chloe’s waters break on the big day.

Stuck between getting married to Charity or being there for the birth of his child, Mackenzie is faced with a choice to make which could reveal the truth to his bride-to-be.

Ahead of the dramatic episode, actors Emma Atkins and Lawrence Robb appeared on Thursday’s instalment of Loose Women to touch on what fans of the ITV soap can expect.

Emma said: “It’s going to be a very crazy episode tonight.”

Agreeing, Lawrence commented: “He’s been naughty, it will eventually come to a point where it all comes tumbling down as all lies do.”

When asked what it’s like being part of such an iconic soap, the soap star paid tribute to some of his Emmerdale colleagues.

He told the Loose Women panel: “The cream of the crop with soap actors when you’re there, everyone is so good.

“Everyone brings their own little snippet of what they do with their character, I mean I’ve been royally blessed working with Ems, working with Jessie, Natalie, Ed.”

Touching on the wedding episode, Emma revealed it covers a variety of different emotions with funny moments, intense scenes and a serious aspect with Chloe’s baby on the way.

She teased: “There’s a tender moment at the end of the scene with us, where I’m – oh no, I can’t spoil it.”

Loose Women panellist Kelly Holmes questioned how different they both are to their on-screen characters with Emma confessing she’s nothing like Charity.

Agreeing, Lawrence replied: “I’m the exact same, I do not like my character at all. I’ve said that if Mackenzie existed in real life I would not be friends with him.”

“They (Charity and Mack) just do all the wrong things.”

Emmerdale is available to watch on ITV from 7.30pm from Monday-Friday.
